A beautiful house in a stunning location. There is lots to do and explore. For the more energetic, there is lovely walks and you can cycle to explore the nearby towns and country side. The owners have a number of bicycles you can use. There are markets, where you can check out the French way of life and enjoy the local produce. There is also a good selection of restaurants, supermarkets and local shops a short drive away.
The house and cottage is spotless and well equipped. Linen and towels are provided. There is a large swimming pool, which is situated to maximise the incredible views of the surrounding area. There is a large games room, with pool and table tennis tables. There is a football table, darts board and a selection of games and books to meet the needs of all ages. The house has Wifi, Sky and wide screen TV,S. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. All in all a fantastic place, where I very much will be visiting again in the not to distant future.
Fabulous week in this lovely, pet friendly, home from home in a magnificent location. Everything provided including a games room as well as lots of books and games. The view from every window is like a painting. Wonderful walking and cycling country.
A luxuriously appointed house with every amenity in tranquil surroundings with stunning views.
This property had everything our extended family could wish for - comfortable seating in sun or shade, a beautiful pool in well kept grounds with far reaching views and a fabulous games room. Picturesque villages, rivers to swim and kayak in and cultural centres were all accessible.
Thank you for all your hard work in making it so special. Thanks also to your efficient and very helpful caretakers. We will remember this holiday with great affection.
La Poujoulie comes highly recommended and we hope to revisit one day.
The house and gardens were perfect for our family ranging from 6 weeks to 61 yr olds!
The pool was a hit with everyone with its wonderful views, safe without feeling fenced in. There were many great outdoor seating and eating areas and the annex was a boon for the couple with a newborn baby. The games room really came into its own when the weather turned against us. The master bedroom and ensuite bathroom were particularly lovely. Thank you for a great stay!
We had such a fantastic time at Poujoulie. Having booked it for a month in the early summer, we were looking for a peaceful, calm place to unwind from our busy lives. When we arrived and into our stay, we were completely blown away by the house, the local area and all the amazing activities available less than an hour's drive away.
The house itself is fantastic - it has been renovated to a really good standard from a collection of very old farm buildings. The interior is great without being too impersonal and 'ikea-ish' like so many holiday homes we have visited. The living areas are comfy and cozy and it was an unexpected benefit to have a fantastic entertainment system with great speakers, Sky TV and really fast broadband. The kitchen and utility room were ideal and the bedrooms upstairs were lovely - we were two families with young kids and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other at all. We also booked the adjoining cottage for our stay which was absolutely perfect when some of our extended family came out to enjoy the sun. The pool and the gardens were undoubtedly the highlight for us - we spent LOTS of time in and around the pool from dawn until after dusk. As you are in the middle of the countryside, noise levels are not an issue whatsoever and if you want to keep partying well into the night, the huge games room (in a renovated barn) is lots of fun.
With regards to the local area, we didn't expect a lot as we knew the house was quite remote. We were completely amazed and the breadth of stuff there was to do. We visited local towns including Cordes-sur-Ciel, San Antonin, Laquepie, Albi and the local Gaillac wine region. The Sunday market in San Antonin is nothing short of incredible - if I wanted to shoot a film including a typical french market, overflowing with wonderful produce, then I would head straight back there.
All in all, this place is very special and if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in luxurious surroundings with plenty to do in the surrounding areas then this is the place for you. We will remember our time there with our families for a long time.
