Stayed in a hotel unit at this resort. Room was nicely furnished, and clean. Hotel units do have a frig, microwave, coffee pot. Did not have an ironing board in the room, so had to request one, which showed up in minutes. All rooms have a humidifier, and you will need it at that altitude. No air conditioning, but none was needed as the room temp was never warm. Check-in was easy, and had no problems in that area. Staff was pleasant, and helpful. Clubhouse/front desk is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Front desk has about 2,000 movies that are free for the guest. I saw a fox on the grounds everyday that I was there. Internet computers are in the clubhouse, and never had a wait for that. Resort is close to I-70 main highway, and easy to get to. Safeway is about 5 minutes away for grocery shopping. I ate breakfast twice at restaurant in the Holiday Inn. Good food, and service. Visited the Nature Center, where the Betty Ford Garden is located. Beautiful, and great place to get some nice pictures. Went to Cheyenne, WY to the Old West Museum, about a 2.5 hour drive from Vail. Nice stores at the Silverthorne Outlet Mall. Coldwater Creek, Bath & Body Works, Nike, to name a few.
Very peaceful this time of year. I have been to Keystone during ski season. Really enjoyed the area, and would go back.

Our family stayed for a week in early June 2010 and were very pleased with our stay. While it's not a fancy new resort, they clearly work hard to keep the property up. We've never stayed at a place with a nicer staff. They were always friendly and asking what they could do to help with our vacation plans.
We had a two bedroom unit that was spacious and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes and cooking items. We had 2 little safes to lock stuff up and a washer and dryer in the unit. Everything worked properly. They had literally a thousand different movies you could check out for free, which was a nice touch!
Since it's not a new property, the bathrooms are a little small and you won't find a jacuzzi tub, but it was still nice. We had a parking lot view, but weren't there to enjoy the view from indoors anyway.
Since it's a small property, there aren't a bunch of activities to participate in, which was fine because we were there to enjoy the amazing outdoors. The indoor/outdoor pool was fun for the kids and there generally weren't may people there. The kids enjoyed the free foosball, pool and air hockey tables and there were always little treats available in the lobby.
The property is north of the interstate, not part of the Vail village area, but again that was just fine. We had easy access to the interstate to travel to the endless recreational opportunities in the area. There was a Safeway just down the road to the west and anything else we needed in close proximity.
Overall, this is a small cozy resort that suited our family very well. We were treated very well, no unpleasant surprises, super fast check-in, easy checkout, just a nice experience!
A word of caution in Vail - follow the posted speed limits - we saw Vail Police pulling people over frequently.

Great place in Vail if you don't care to be in the center of the village or the party scene. On the N. side of I-70 Frontage Rd.west of Sandstone Elementary and I was concerned we would have traffic noise. Our 2 BR, 2 Bath condo on the eastside of the building overlooked the creek and we enjoyed the sound of rushing water day & night. We coudn't hear or barely see a car. Our view was trees, shrubs, waving grasses, houses across the stream & darting swallows. Very solidly constructed building brick, steel & concrete....no thumping floors or stairs or hearing your neighbors. Spacious compared to our friends digs at a nearby property. Furnishings were in excellent shape, pleasantly decorated without being fussy. Gas fireplace took the chill off in mornings. No air conditioning & not needed at this altitude. Just open the windows. TV & DVD player in each bedroom & living room. Huge video library at the front desk. In/out pool & indoor hot-tub, sauna & steam room. Game room, pool table, playground, & volleyball net to entertain kids & teens. 2 large gas BBQ grills in front court shared by all units.
Best equipped condo kitchen I've experienced....blender, baking pans, muffin tins, heavy cookware and appliances in good working order. Very clean and the whole property is well maintained. Decor is recently updated with new mattresses, sofabed, granite kitchen counters. Only limitation is the kitchen and master bath are smallish. But you don't spend much time there on vacation anyway.
We like not being in the heart of Vail or Lionshead. In summer, parking is free in the Vail garages so you can bike or drive over to Vail to visit restarants & shops. It was a pleasure to unwind in the hot tub after a hike to Lost Lake. We'll return for more summer fun.

We visited Sandstone Creek Club via the AFVC, where we got a great deal. Overall, our stay was very nice. It was the first time we had vacationed at a condo.

Since they clean once, mid-week, it was nice not having to be out of the room early each morning. (The condo was super clean to start with, with lots of soap and towels in both bathrooms.) And making breakfast at the condo also let us forget about the alarm clock. With a full kitchen, this was a big money-saver too. We just picked up some breakfast groceries at the local Safeway on our first day and ate breakfast in.

Our balcony overlooked a very peaceful, flowing creek that was really nice background noise with the windows open. There are a few small trails nearby for hiking, but this area is mostly for skiing. (For better trails, you will have to drive at least 30 minutes in either direction, I recommend Glenwood Springs where you can do the Hanging Lake Trail and they go to the Hot Springs pool.)

The pool is cool, with half indoors and half outdoors. You can swim under the partition to access either side. There are two indoor hot tubs by the pool, as well as a dry sauna and a steamroom.

The exercise room is quite small and only has a few machines, but we did use it a few days of the week, when it was too nippy outside to do any real exercise in the morning.

One thing that I wish I would have known before we went is that the condo had a washer and dryer. We were there for 7 days, so we ended up checking luggage. If I had known about the washer/dryer, I could have gotten by with just a carry-on. They even supply detergent for the guests.

Since the end of April is technically the off-season for Vail and the surrounding ski areas, the restaurants and shopping in the Vail villages were largely unavailable at night. This was really the only disappointment. But there are some nice restaurants in Avon, Edwards, and Eagle, which aren't far and have more choices in the off-season. Just ask Jodi for advice - she will hook you up with good deals. (She told us about some unadvertised specials certain restaurants were having - my husband and I dined at a brand new nearby Westin for under $40!).

There were two ski lifts still open in the area (Loveland and the Arapahoe Basin were open the last week of April.)

I would recommend staying here, it's clean, cozy, and quiet. This would be a good place to stay with other friends/couples in the off-season.
