I had a good time here. Short walk to the lift and the gondola. The room was spacious and clean. We were on the same floor as the hot tubs (which are right next to the elevators). The hot tubs were great after a day of boarding

The staff was great on check in which was around 5 or 6. The bar staff was great too.

The hotel has 4 places to eat at. A cafe that closes in the afternoon, the bar, the main restaurant and a bar restaurant in the basement.

The chili I had at the bar was amazing. Like surprisingly amazing. Just try it and trust me.

At the bar I also had the NY strip. Cooked perfect so couldn't complain if I wanted to. My gf got the salmon which was good as well.

I had the breakfast buffet there twice. Hey have the eggs, sausags, bacon, potatos, omlet bar, fruit and french toast or crepe wraps. It was good. About $21 bucks which isn't horrible. Wish the staff was a bit more attentive, but oh well.

Overall I would stay here again. It's right off the mountain, clean, good food if you don't want to leave, and even have a game room for kids.

You really can't get any better with the proximity of the Sheraton. Located at the base of the mountain, this hotel offers easy ski rentals in the basement of the hotel with 20% off as a Sheraton guest. I realize my stay was on one of the busier weekends, however the restaurant staff was not attentive in any of their restaurants. Service was horrible.
Our room was average. One plus was the closet "lockers," which made it really nice to store all of our equipment. As for the room, we did take note that our linens where never changed. We stayed three nights. We knew they weren't changed due to a big stain on the sheets. eww! We also had a disgusting incident with the bathroom as the toilet overflowed all over the floor, just with a simple flush. (Note- the staff was promptly in our room to clean it, which was noted an appreciated). All in all, the property is in such a good location, I'd probably return to stay again. I do hope the property will read this and make adjustments to staffing, service and attention to detail with the cleanliness of the rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the view.

This hotel is a very average basic hotel, definitely not luxe or pretty, but serves all your needs for a great ski vacation. We have stayed at this hotel several times because of the sheer convenience. The location of the hotel cannot be beat, as it is at the base of the mountain, right next to the gondola and ski school, and there is a great ski shop rental/storage facility in the basement. You also get a 20% discount if you rent from them, and are staying at the hotel. The staff are super friendly, and come from all over the world. It's nice to recognize familiar faces each time we return. We had a little debacle, as my friend had reserved a large table at Seven's dining room for valentines day dinner, facing the slopes to watch the torch light show. As it turned out, the reservation was somehow not put on the books, and we were out for a place to dine, for a party of 10 on the busiest night, being v-day. The manager, who was so very kind, provided us with a private dining room, and went above and beyond to accommodate our large party. The private dining room ended up being even better for our party, so that the kids could run around the room freely. Shockingly, the food they served for valentines day was extremely good and the seafood was all very fresh. (Normally I expect valentines day food to be mediocre at best because of the mass of people.) Additionally, the room service food is quick, tastes good, and luke, our server was super friendly. My only complaint about this property is that there is always a wait for the elevators. Everyone is leaving to ski at the same time, and returning from the slopes at the same time, and with only 3 elevators, you would typically have to wait a few times before you could hop on a lift.

Location is great and room clean, but the front desk staff indifferent. We made a complaint because on our floor there were many trays from room service left in the corridor. After seeing them there for hours, we commented that it would be nice if they were taken away seeing as this is a five star hotel, it is a bit disgusting to see half eaten food and drink sitting in the corridor for hours on end. The front desk looked unamused but said he would check. 4 hours later we came back from dinner and the trays/towels were still sitting in the corridor.

We've been traveling to Steamboat for over 15 years and love it. Winters are great and the summers are even better. This was our first time staying at the Sheraton and we've been disappointed.

The good: Check in was fast, room was clean, and we had a knowledgeable bell hop. Good first impression. Ski storage is fast and convenient-I can go from storage to slopes in one minute or less.

The bad: seem to be under staffed. My wife and I wanted a drink and some food our first evening here. The bar was busy and there was no where to sit. But the reason there was no where to sit was there were at least 3 tables which hadn't been cleared. Went to dinner near by. Next morning was down in the lobby looking for coffee there wasn't any because they were selling it with the buffet. Gathered the family for some breakfast buffet which is over priced and again was way behind on cleaning tables. 20-30 minute wait. Went somewhere else. In fact we didn't spend a dime on food with the Sheraton during our 5 day stay. Lastly our room wasn't cleaned our first day-good first impression is all but gone.

For a hotel with the best location on the mountain you should be getting the little things right. The Sheraton is not.
