My family and I love this place, we have been coming here since 2013. We've always come in the winter to ski, so we tried this summer to see what south fork Colorado has to offer! Gotta say this has been the best summer vacation we have ever taken, and most of all the people who owns the Spruce Lodge!! We love staying at the lodge, the best part for us is BREAKFAST and hanging out with Rob and Dee the owners!! Those are some awesome people they have become family to us!! We look for great people and a cool place to stay at and we've found them!! Thanks guys for y'all hospitality and friendship😊

Love you guys !!!

Thanks Marcus and Melanie! It was great to see you again.

We've made the most amazing friends since we bought the lodge in 2006. Some guests become friends and some of those new friends become family.

Hope to see you guys again soon!

The Spruce Lodge has been annual trip for my family and I. My kids look forward to every trip on seeing Rob and Dee. Most importantly the food Rob Cakes and Cinnamon rolls. When you see the sign in the living room "COME AS STRANGERS LEAVE AS FRIENDS" that means alot. If you ever get a chance to stay here it would be a wonderful experience.

I'm so glad you got to try the cinammon rolls. They are absolutely the very, very best!

I now know why they have a "Very Firm" no refund or cancellation policy. Once you see the place in person it has no resemblance to the on line pictures. We were very disappointed and wonder how there can be reviews of this "lodge" that are 4 and 5 ratings. We ask for a refund but as the policy says we were denied. We left early and moved out anyway.

The rooms are run down, the carpet is almost not there, the bathroom has mold and the beds and pillows are the worst I have ever tried to sleep on.

Take the low ratings seriously on this "lodge".

The continental breakfast was disappointing and the lodge restaurant for breakfast was just okay and there are a few better choices in town, though limited.

Sir, why didn't you call me if you had a concern. Every single person is given my personal cell phone number at the time of booking AND at check in. The number is even circled on the check in paperwork and every guest is instructed to call if they need ANYTHING, even in the middle of the night.

I never spoke with you about an early checkout, a refund, or concerns about your room. You have a responsibility to let us know if there are problems, we can not help you if we don't know.

I am the owner and I can make exceptions on refunds - but I can't help if you don't call.

We rented Cabin B for three nights because we wanted to see South Fork after 10 years and we have a lot there in Beaver Creek. Spruce Lodge looked good on the website, but seeing it on film and seeing it in person are two different things. When we arrived, we had to pick up dog poo outside our steps before we could unload -- and we have a dog, so it's not like I don't like dogs. The porch step was so rickety, I almost fell and had to grab the porch column. We got inside and it was downhill from there. We do a lot of tent camping so I didn't expect the Ritz. There were holes in the door screen, one bedroom screen was completely ripped on one side, the stove area was dirty and greasy they left a dish sponge that was old and had food scraps in it. The coffee maker and toaster were ancient. The sofa was dirty, one fridge door didn't close and there was a broken box of baking soda all over the bottom. The other fridge could not be adjusted and had an old TV sitting on top of it and when moved the TV so we could open the door wider, there was a ton of dust underneath. When we lifted the sofa cushions, there were candy wrappers and something plastic that we could not identify -- we didn't even sit on the sofa. The kitchen table was old and rickety and the two chairs were these cheap, old plastic outdoor chairs. The bench on the porch was missing slats and was so weathered, we had to put a towel down so we wouldn't get splinters. The porch light did not work and one light bulb in the living room was out. The carpeting was ancient and dirty. I wouldn't even let my dog lay on the floor. Then the last straw -- stains on my sheets. At that point I called the owner and she stormed over to change the sheets and basically told us if we didn't like the place we could just leave right then or first thing in the morning! This was 10:30 at night. She did not care that she was ruining our plans to stay in South Fork for three days. She did say she would refund our stay (she did) but was very angry and accused us of "nit picking" the place. She didn't even want to know what was wrong. I took pictures of everything. I would never, ever go back. It is a shame because the cabin could be really nice for a small investment of probably less than $500. My husband and I were probably more shocked at the aggressive, uncaring and disrespectful attitude of the owner than anything.

We have owned this business for 12 years and have had thousands upon thousands of happy customers.

We have only asked 6 to leave.

I made a last minute reservation to stay here when fishing the Rio Grande in Creede, CO. The staff was very professional and helpful. Although the room was very basic, it was clean and comfortable and a very good value for the price paid.
