Description: The historic Castle Inn at Chiddingstone has been brought back to life again this spring (April 2017) after being restored to its former glory. The much-loved local pub, located in a Grade II* listed building at the heart of this National Trust owned Tudor village, had been closed since April 2016. Now, however, it has reopened its doors following a sympathetic facelift with new furniture and fittings throughout. Whether it`s a quiet meal that you are after, a large get together for Sunday lunch, or just a pleasant drink, we will always make you feel welcome.

Gems are mostly hidden, but search no longer if you want decent, fresh, homemade excellent pub food. Just a few miles from Hever Castle, sits this pub in a Tudor house. Next to the pub is the house where Anne Boleyns father grew up.
Pub food?
Excellent wild boar terrine
Oven baked Camembert
Delicious Scotsh eggs
Spiced hake in a indian style fish & chips.
But we asked if the chef could make normal fish&chips for the kids, and he was delighted to help us !!
Thx mate. Really appreciate the service of everybody. P
After refurbishing the whole pub last year, they are celebrating their first year in business next weekend. Hope they have a lot of anniversaries coming!!

Came across this country pub after venturing into the village to view the castle grounds. Beers well kept and a good selection of food on the menu. As a local in the area I’ll be recommending this pub to friends. Good job.

Dear thefussyones87, thank you for your review. What with 3 local breweries(Westerham, Larkins and Harveys), we pride ourselves on the condition of our beers so it is good to know that they passed the customers test as well. The food selection changes regularly so we hope that you will be back again soon to taste some more excelelent dishes. JoN

Absolutely faultless lunch. We chanced our luck and turned up without a booking on what is one of the busiest days in hospitality. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was not what we expected for a little pub hidden in the countryside. The terrine starter was delicious and the roast dinners was up there with the best we’ve ever had. Desserts however were the stand out course. Lemon posset was absolutely delicious, and my wife had the chefs snickers bar dessert on a recommendation as it is gluten free. Both desserts were of similar quality to what you would expect in a posh London restaurant. Will definitely return when back in the area. Thank you to all.

We went for lunch on Mother's Day, we were a family of 5. The lunch was delicious, the service was efficient and friendly, with no delays which is impressive as it was busy. Top marks to the chef and staff. Thank you.
