Would have to say this was my favorite hotel on my mini Colorado road trip. Loved the understated design and overall feel of the place. It was a motel in the truest sense but had just to right amount of upgrades to make for a comfortable stay. The teepee was a nice touch and cool place to partake in that which is legal in 30 of 50 states but not mine (Texas). Was a great stay and a great alternative to generic souless chain hotel/motels. If you have the chance, I recommended staying here.

A great rehab on an old drive up motel concept! Clean, Clean, Clean-from the lobby to the room to the bathroom!

My only concern is off season pricing. I was one of 4 cars in the lot that night and I was still paying over $100.

Everything about this motel is SO CUTE! The owners did such an amazing job re-modeling this old motel. This place is close to town (which by the way is also so adorable). I highly recommend to anyone driving through or visiting the area. We will definitely be back for another visit.

When you are tired of the 'standard' hotel offerings, this is you place. Fun, whimsical, authentic, with nice updates. Love their sense of humor, "Gluten free beds..." was on the sign when we pulled in.
Definitely not for everyone, which is why it is so appealing.

A Route 66 feel--cactus planted in old beer cans type of chic funk. Sweet resident dog, nice staff. Breakfast minimal--coffee and help yourself to a yogurt. Central location on Salida's strip. Nice hot tub. Watch the bathtub, though, can be slippery and may need new adhesive strips applied. Otherwise, good base to enjoy mountains and hot springs.

Room Tip: Back from highway.
