“Don't go”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2012 via mobile

We were booked into this place by a travel club who advertised it as a premier resort. When We arrived they had lost our gift basket and when it was located called us to retrieve it instead of delivering it to our room, not at all the hospitality of a premier resort. The carpets were coming up in places throughout the property. Walls were badly in need of paint. Swimming pool heater was broken, making it unusable. Spa controll knob had been removed, I'm guessing so it could be used on either switch. The arcade had no working games. The bar was dark and empty except for some empties left on a table, the breakfast area was also left dirty. The light switch in the room was hard to find, so We fought with the curtains to get some light. A drawer knob came off in my daughters hand. There was a hole in the stucco of the balcony. I shared an elevator with an employee (might have been an owner, since he seemed to live in the executive suite) who didn't bother to speak to me. The landscape was in need of a manicure. We didn't stay, but were able to get a refund and appology from the travel club. I feel for those who pay $100+ for a room and are bound by the late cancellation policy, they're being ripped off. I drove home, it took 4 hours, but I would have rather slept in my car than at this "resort".

We booked here as part of travel plan promo- which charged for the stay! The agency promised a premiere resort experience; indoor pool, spa, hot springs….. Seedy best describes this overpriced place. What a disappointment! Pool was cold. We were told the heater was broken. Oh well... They had two Jacuzzi but the control knob didn’t work for one and we had to figure out how to use it on the other- pliers would have been handy. Locker room bare- 50ish style. Remodel doesn’t look like it has been addressed since 1950s. The list of interior decorating flaws; peeling wall-paper, bare wood in elevator, trash /bottles, left in dark bar, seams of ¼ inch exposed on carpeting in hallways, peeling paint on balcony located off room, holes in stucco on balcony, old room décor, 70s box TV, fuzzy cable, no frig, no microwave. Absolutely, no pride of ownership. Nice view of some water outside.

Room Tip: RUN the other way.

The only good thing about this place was the price. We checked in at 9:30 pm and were exhausted so we went straight to the room. The towels looked yellowish and when we turned the beds down the sheets looked old too. The fitted sheets were not pulled down over the mattress and the beds just weren't made professionally. The room needs major updating, paint and scrubbing. There were dust webs in the corners, the strips on the tubfloor were dirty too.
Breakfast.....the waffle makers didn't work well and the middle of the waffles never cooked. The "eggs" were strange circles and cold. The toaster only toasted one side of the bread and the waffle maker kept tripping a breaker and would turn off. I compare this place close to a bad hotel in a scarry movie. Never again!

Let's start with the positive.
We rented a delux room which had a king bed attached living room with sm kitchen.
Positives: pool & hot tub were nice. Service was quick & efficient. View of lake & mountsins was beautiful.
Negatives
External doors did not lock & internal doors did not close properly. Heating never went above 58 even when they brought space heaters. Master bath while remolded had no heating vent only a air intake vent. When you shut the bathroom door it caused a vacume effect that made opening the door very difficult & pulled the celing tiles down over the tub it was so intense. In addition the way the jacuzzi was installed made it extremly difficult to get in & out. Light bulbs missing , plugs that didn't work, hallway lights that were out ,trash on patios & by external doors. Wifi only worked in lobby & was not strong enough to stream videos. Breakfast was modest at best. Store bought pastries, biscuits & no fruit. Cereal dispensers did not work. Microwaved sasuage links& eggs(need to hard boil the eggs) gravy & waffles made up hot breakfast.
Basically this lodge is just too big for them to maintained adequately.

We found the lodge to be fair. It was clean and the service was fine, but the place felt like it needed a facelift. Not particularly "colorado" feeling.
