Stayed overnight with a two year old and a dog. King bed was comfy, directly across from the pool. Pool/hot tub was small but clean, two year old loved it. On the west side of town, a little drive to the main sites in pagosa. Breakfast was average. Staff was helpful. Close to Walmart.

This a very economical place, if there is such a place these days. They are animal friendly & clean. Very friendly people. This is close to where we have other interests so it works well for us. What more can I say. Very family oriented with indoor pool & hot tub area.

We went to Pagosa Springs for an overnight trip to enjoy the hot springs. I had read the reviews prior to choosing this hotel, and we are so happy we did! The front desk manager was a really nice young man; whom had two friendly dogs with him at the front desk. I'm sure he's the main manager, if not owner, possibly residing on site; I regret not getting his name. However...he was the most personable, friendly, down to earth, helpful, outgoing, organized, hard working hotel manager I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We had a non-smoking King on the first floor of the main hall. We had arrived at 2:50; 10 minutes early before normal check-in. He was happy to check us in early, and personally ran down the hallway to check to see if housekeeping had finished cleaning the room, was ready. Housekeeping had just walked out, as we walked into our extremely clean, fresh smelling room. We asked for an extra towel, conditioner, shampoo; the manager grabbed it from his extremely well organized inventory, he clearly worked hard at organizing; he seemed proud of the hard work, effort he has put into the hotel, rightfully so. Was very impressed with the room, the stay, the entire experience, continental breakfast. The check-in process went really smoothly, he gave great local advice. We told him the kind of food we were looking for, he recommended "Boss Hogs" just a block to the left of the hotel, you could walk there. It was absolutely probably some of the best, freshest food, as well as great service at "Boss Hogs" as well, we were served by a partially deaf young, handsome male waiter, that went out of his way to provide excellent service, had a great personality. Didn't catch his name, but I'd highly recommend his section, the restauraunt, and the hotel as well. Very reasonably priced for the high quality, highly recommended.... :)

Reasonable price, rooms were clean and relatively comfortable. Convenient location. No elevator was a minus but not an absolute must-have. There were minimal food options for breakfast, which was disappointing.

I keep trying new places in Pagosa, and none of them are very great. The Econo Lodge is pretty comparable to the Hillside Inn, and definitely better than the first Inn and San Juan Lodge. I never book enough ahead to get back to The High Country Lodge or a decent cabin somewhere on a holiday.

The breakfast has two kinds of cold cereal, instant oatmeal, a waffle machine and not much fruit. It was not bad. The room was pretty plain, but more than adequate. The mattress was decent, and the room was clean. We didn't hear hardly any noise from the hallway or adjoining room, which is a big deal for me.

The jets on the hot tub in pool room didn't work, but the water was plenty hot. The pool is small and the indoor pool area is starting to look run down. When we called the front desk the second time about the sink in the room not draining, they said the stopper was too low and it was not because the sink was clogged. So instead of doing a simple adjustment under the sink to the stopper, they took it out. The towel bar over the toilet looked crooked, but on further inspection it was coming out of the wall. Right now the place is in pretty good shape, but I can it getting run down under the current owners.

One feature you might see as good or bad, the sink is not in the same room as the toilet and tub. So someone can be using the vanity and another person can have the bathroom door locked. But if someone is trying to sleep and another person is using the sink, it is not as great a feature.

Wifi worked great and was fast. They had a charging station with two usb plugs and an electrical outlet on the nightstand, which every hotel in the world should have in my opinion.

I would stay there again because the price was good, but I will keep looking for something better first.

Room Tip: You have to take your luggage up the stairs, but the second floor is pretty quiet.
