I'm a simple girl really and the things I enjoy when staying in a hotel are a clean room (this one def was), a hot tub to relax in, and a nice free breakfast. The room was clean but the hot tub definitely wasn't hot but the breakfast voucher is what kind of made me sour about our experience here. They give you vouchers the night before for you to redeem at a little cafe down the street. The "menu" is extremely limited and if you want a beverage it costs you extra. The cafe has limited hours and when we arrived 2 minutes prior to their "Closing time" we were really taken back when a worker in the restaurant ran to the front door and clicked the deadbolt lock so we couldn't get in. It was early on a Sunday morning so we were really confused. We struggled with the door for a minute thinking something was wrong, and then walked in when some people were leaving. When we walked in, another customer told us that breakfast was over and the employees ignored us. A simple, sorry but we are closed would've been a bit friendlier (rather than beating us to the deadbolt). So we had to go buy breakfast somewhere else. When we pay a lot for a hotel room, we expect to get what we paid for. We have stayed at the Comfort Inn in Ouray and had a much more enjoyable stay there and will stay there in the future.

We were very happy with our accommodations and the appearance of the Motel. They had just hung fresh flowers and it looks like it has been recently painted. The room was spacious and the staff was friendly.

We chose to purchase the hot springs pool tickets at the front desk and saved a little money. It was a short easy walk to the pool and the hotel provided us with towels.

Restaurants and shopping are all close, it is a small town but very charming.

I am a motorcycle tour guide. I've bring a few groups over to the Mattherhorn and I Do recommend you stay there.
Its in center of town, off the main street, but just around the corner.
The owners will bend over backwards to accomodate you and help if you need.
I truly wish some more owners would be like that! See ya in August folks! (Phil MMMV)

We stayed in room 25. Clean room, good working shower, comfortable bed and great motel staff. Wonderful view. The only reason for my lower rating was because we stayed 3 nights in a very cramped room. The king size bed took up practically all the floor space. If you travel with your own pillows like we do, you have no place to put all the extra pillows so you end up building a pillow fort on the bed. LOL I expect there are rooms with a larger footprint. Like other reviews, the free breakfast is up the street and doesn't include coffee. No big deal, the folks are pretty nice all the way around and we enjoyed the morning walk. You can make coffee in your room, but with space at a minimum, it's pretty tricky. There is coffee, juice and pre-packaged pastries in the lobby. I would stay here again, pack lighter and choose a larger room.

Older building with improvements, especially the bath room with some nice tile work. Quiet. Mattress a little soft and saggy. Tip: they give breakfast vouchers for a local restaurant. Make coffee in your room and save yourself $2.74 for a cup of coffee at the restaurant .

Room Tip: 2 nd floor always quieter
