My husband and I planned on staying at this hotel after a long day climbing La Plata. We picked this hotel 1) Because they allowed dogs and 2) Because they were the only ones in town besides the Super 8 that had a room (the Super 8 is expensive, for a Super 8).
When we got in our room and closed the door there was at least an 1 inch gap under the door letting cold air and snow in the room (since the doors open to outside instead of to a hallway). The heat was not on in the room and it took forever for the ancient heater to even think about warming the room. The bathroom was awful. The floor in the shower was black, since it obviously was not being cleaned regularly.
After being in our room for only a couple of minutes we decided it was so bad we weren't going to stay there so we went to ask for our money back. The manager was rude and would not give us our money back. We had paid around $70 for the room and he finally gave us only $15 back. So we went back to the room, took an hour nap, and made the 10 hour drive back home.
I would never stay here again.
