Found this place by accident ,always knew the post office was there but never knew it had a tea room,Lovely surprise ,set in a old building with low ceiling and up on the 2nd floor ,it has a feel of the 1940s,serving a good selection of tea and coffee, with lovely filled rolls and sandwiches,And hot food ,very friendly staff and good sevice in a very relaxed setting ...The village is well worth a walk around as it has plenty of thatched cottages and lovely old buildings ... A reminder of Old England, the post office and shop has a feel of how local shops used to be ,welcoming and very trad....

What a cute place is this property. It is a tiny cottage with a thatched roof and really lovely to look at and spend some time in. The tea rooms serves basic pub food and there is a tiny garden at the back. I would recommend that if you are passing through Alwalton, drop by and spend a while here,

A small tea room above the post office and store in an old thatched cottage. We visit this tea room whenever we stay at the Ferry Meadows Caravan Park. A leisurely hours walk from the caravan site. We always have the cream tea. A large warm fruit scone with a pot of jam and a generous portion of clotted cream. Delicious. A lovely pot of tea with extra hot water is more than sufficient for 2 or 3 cups of tea. £4.75 each and worth every penny.
