This Fairfield Inn offers spacious rooms, larger than most other hotels. The room is clean and equipped with nice amenities that look modern. The breakfast offered was not bad, but we encountered badly prepared food like hashbrown that was still frozen in the middle. The hotel staff are in general courteous and helpful.

We stay at this chain most of the time and this was by fair the most disappointing. Our room had an air conditioning unit that roared like a jet engine on and off all night long . The breakfast service crew was most unwelcoming . They made me feel like I was bothering them . The little bit of premade eggs bacon and hash brown was cold. Good thing the microwave in room worked. Management needs to retrain the staff on this December 1 shift for sure .
The toiletries was sufficient and nice to have full bottles of shampoo etc in shower.

Hello,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Fairfield by Marriott in Durango, CO, we appreciate your business. I am sorry to hear your a/c unit was very noisy. Did you ever let the front desk know about this issue so we could have resolved this issue? I am sorry to hear the breakfast service was not up to par, I will be showing this review to them and have a discussion with them and see what we can do better. We hope you have a great day!

Stayed one night en route to Grand Canyon and Sedona. Newer building, typical of Fairfield quality. Comfortable and in a good location for visiting downtown for dinner. Only drawback was breakfast service. Guests stood in line, many without masks, to get take away food. Unsafe and time-consuming. They should go with pre-packaged rolls and yogurt/fruit instead.

Durango's Fairfield Inn is a relatively new property, and impressively tidy from its mid-century mod lobby to the individual guest rooms, which offer desk space and wide sink shelves in addition to the usual amenities. Despite being located alongside the major east-west highway, the hotel provides a comfortable sleep. Covid protocols during our one-night stay appeared in good order. An added benefit is that, unlike most of the other chain hotels, located some distance away, the Fairfield is within easy walking distance of downtown.

Bikers in town for a motorcycle rally, straight from the super-spreader event in Sturgis, were staying at our hotel. Management refused to enforce the mask mandate in the lobby where we had to wait in line to step up to the food service area for our grab 'n go breakfast. Very distressing. I tried to stay away from the bikers and their lack of concern for public health but they were all over the hotel. Plus, our tub leaked behind the controls through the our floor, then ceiling to the room below (sorry bikers!). The receptionist and other staff was thoughtful and polite ... BUT the manager just stood by and did nothing to fix the issues. I will NEVER stay here again.
