The warm welcome we received from Diane and Kevin on our arrival was the first clue that this was to be no ordinary travel experience. The Cabins at Bear Creek is extraordinary.

No detail has been overlooked here. The cabins are outfitted with everything imaginable to make you feel at home, right down to the cozy down comforters and hot chocolate in the cupboard. When I saw the French coffee press and freshly ground coffee, I knew it was Nirvana. Diane's breakfast each morning was this foodie's dream. We so enjoyed getting away from it all and hiking in the fresh air each day and enjoying a glass of wine each afternoon on our private cabin porch - while watching hummingbirds flit by. We will return!

Room Tip: Every room here enjoys the same peaceful creekside amenities!

A friend recommended the Cabins at Bear Creek to us as part of our southwestern CO road trip-- what a GREAT spot!! They are about halfway between Durango and Telluride, surrounded on 3 sides by National Forest. A river DOES run through it-- our cabin (one of only 2) was within a few feet of the trout in Bear Creek. The cabins both have a full bath and kitchen, but the spot to cook (or relax, or read, or enjoy a glass of wine) is on the deck over Bear Creek itself. We hiked and biked on miles of trails each day without getting into our car. The host(ess?), Diane, is a great chef, and prepared a gourmet breakfast for us each AM. Add to this the complimentary bottle of Chardonnay we got when we checked in and the basket of S'more makings waiting for us, and at the end of the day.... we just didn't want to ever leave!! You won't regret a stay here!!

Room Tip: There are only two cabins and a sheepherder wagon to rent-- you won't go wrong!
