Very nice park, would definitely not visit after dark. Lots of transient activity after dark. Nice area for pictures as well.

1st time traveler to this area, from a distance I was excited to see this park, the statues.
As we got closer it was filled with homeless people with the shopping carts covered in tarps, Unwashed young people that looked strung out. Smell of pot throughout the park. I would not bring my family to this park to play. I do not see how the government can come and go in these buildings and not do anything (not sure what they can do though) The capitol is across the street & lines of school busses park in front of park. Is this a lesson for them: don't do drugs? I felt sick after going by this area.

Although the day we were there there wasn’t a big rally, it was easy to see why this is the central place for Denver political rallies. It’s a beautiful park and definitely worth a quick exploration. The park is surrounded by classic government buildings including the gold-topped Colorado Capitol building and the Denver City/County building. It’s a great place to stretch your legs after visiting the Denver Art Museum which is quite nearby.

Pale dried out grass, full of homeless people and smells of marijuana. You’d think they would take better care of it given it’s outside government buildings and museums but it just looks run down. It was a nice day and we were looking for a place to sit and enjoy the sun. Most benches were occupied by homeless people. Avoid.

Located in the center of Denver, this large green space offers a refreshing place to relax. Anchored by the state capitol on one end and civic buildings on the other, the paths and plantings are enjoyable on a sunny day. Unfortunately, a lot of transient people also hang out in the park. And while most quirky enjoy the park, a few were quite disruptive. The park is well patrolled though. It is well worth walking through to enjoy the sights.
