We recently had the very delightful experience of staying at Vickery’s Vantage for a few days. Wow! That just about sums up this stunning and elegant home. We expected to be astounded by the amazing views of the Colorado Mountains, but we were dumbstruck by how this home was even more striking than the natural wonders it was set against. Attention to detail is represented in every room of this spacious and well-appointed home. From the expansive and well-designed kitchen (a gourmet chef’s dream), to the immense mudroom that houses mountains of ski equipment, coats, hats, mittens and all sorts of winter accoutrements, to the plentiful bedrooms that comfortably slept 17 of us, we never felt crowded or in each other’s space. Indeed, there were plenty of private nooks to steal away to if one wanted privacy. Having said that, there were also ample places for us all to gather and enjoy being together. The dining area (which affords some of the most breathtaking views that Breckenridge has to offer) houses the most magnificent table that looks as if it has been carved from the center of an enormous hardwood tree and is so massive that it easily seated our brood. The open floorplan meant that we could cook, eat, and play board games in front of the exquisite fireplace all while enjoying each other’s company; and, on the floor below, we took tremendous advantage of the recreational area as we played pool, sat at the bar and watched movies on the tremendous movie screen sized television. We even stole outside a few steps to enjoy watching the splendid sunset over the mountains from the comfort of the outdoor hot tub! There are other niceties included for a traveling family that don’t sound as grand, but are equally important. It was a luxury to be able to wash ski clothes in the state of the art front loading washer and dryer, the kids were thrilled with the gaming system in the comfortable bunkroom (in fact, the kids loved every single thing about the bunkroom including the wall inserts next to every bed that included phone chargers!), and it was so delightful to have easy access to Wi-Fi. Now that we’re home, all we can think about is when we’ll return. I don’t think we would even consider staying in another Breckenridge home after visiting this one. It was absolutely perfect.
