Dined as a couple. Started with the caesar and caprese salads. The caesar was dressed in olive oil and came with little cheese. It didn't taste like a caesar - quite frankly it had no taste. The caprese was very small and tasted "ok". The pizzas were good however we wanted a pizza on their menu which was not there - on their website it advertised certain pizzas yet in the restaurant the menu had changed yet they failed to update the website. We came specifically for a mushroom pizza which no longer existed and we were told we could not order it.

The server was clueless from beginning to end. Didn't know the menu, interupted our conversations for inappropriate questions and was absent when she was needed like the 1/2 an hour our wine glasses were empty. She also spilled our wine and broke a plate next to our table. All the while personnel there were amply standing by.

The restaurant is clearly lacking managment and training. The name has changed to "Restaurant L"
and one of the owners has left. This absence maybe some of the reason the restaurant has gone downhill. The staff in general acted like they couldn't care less if you were there or not.
The restaurants lazy impersonal attitude left us with a poor taste and we will not be back.

Ordered the ravioli alla zucca. It was so salty I could not eat more than a few bites. The bread was delivered to us as if it was thrown on the plate. The staff was very unprofessional. Our salads had wilted lettuce. I can't understand why anyone eats here. The saving grace was that the manager gave us our meals for free. He offered for us to choose something else, but we didn't even want to try at that point.

This is one of the classiest dining places in Boulder....well, I know there are many that are much more expensive that may look as nice, but this has everything you want, so why pay more? The pasta dishes melt in your mouth, and the pizzas are done to perfection. Even the butter was rich/creamy. Whether you are wandering in after shopping, or coming in for a birthday celebration (done both), you are welcomed genuinely. I'm a lasagne eater and it was perfect; but I tried the creme brule last time, and I could have ate 5 more! It was just the right amount of crunch and cream. They have an excellent wine list too, and a bar area. There's a big free parking lot underground.

Do not go here if you're a large group (13 of us). It took the kitchen over an hour to get our food to us. Three people ordered the same dish, but there was no consistency in them. The waiter pretty much ignored us. We tried to talk to management about this, but no one returned our calls or emails. We expected much more for the amount of money we were charged. We will not be returning to "The L".

Dinner at "The L" (as it is now called) was absolutely wonderful. The wait staff was very nice (though understaffed), the atmosphere was energetic, and the food spectacular. The filet was so tender that it could be cut with a fork.
