Walnut Creek is chock full of overpriced eating options. Morocco's is a happy exception. Our company uses them for catering and I eat there for lunch. Always good. To avoid lines, call in order by 11:30.

Even though often busy, service is still great as is the food. Many choices for sandwiches and love the bean soup.

My husband and I had read about Morucci's in the Via Magazine for AAA. We decided to try it. We were very impressed! Their sandwiches and salads were delicious! While we were there placing our orders at lunch time, a little voice reminded me that a wedding reception we had attended 2 years ago had Morucci's as their caterer. Two years ago we thought the sandwiches and salads were wonderful! Now we were at the deli to select our own. My husband ordered the #6 3/4, which was their roasted turkey with tomato and mozzarella. He proclaimed that it was delicious! I ordered their Cobb salad, which was a romaine, egg, bacon, chicken, cucumber, avocado. Blue cheese and tomato with ranch dressing. It was huge and wonderful! We chose to sit indoors, but there were tables outside under umbrellas. They offer regular sandwiches such as roast beef, but they also offer 18 specialty sandwiches, soup, breakfast. We have to return to try their other menu items! The deli is popular, so arrive early, around 11:00 to beat the lines.

Totally the best place to go for lunch if you don't want to put up with increasing pedestrian and car traffic and finding parking downtown. Fantastic sandwiches (most raved about are the meatball sandwiches, soups, & baked goods. Price isn't bad either. Parking is a small problem though, and the lines can be long. Best to get there before noon (elevenish) if possible. Seating outside in the sun or under umbrellas. I live in the neighborhood so drop in whenever. Vegetarian and Vegan salads since you get to choose the ingredients. Good sized portions.
