“Loved it!”

We really enjoyed staying here! Beautiful, out of the way place back up in the trees. The house itself was nice with an eclectic mix of decorations, furniture, kitchen appliances, and bathroom.
Two bedrooms, one bath. There was a gas heater in the main living/kitchen area, which when set to the temp suggested on the sticky note, didn't quite heat the bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen had plenty of items to cook with; even a rice cooker! The old fashioned counter/sink area was like my grandmother had, and brought back great memories. The back bedroom had the most comfortable bed we have slept on. A small electric heater was in there to plug in if you needed it. The bathroom was large enough with a large clawfoot tub with shower. There was a bidet which we didn't use. Instructions for use of and the history of the bidet was typed on a sheet of paper and taped to the wall. Very interesting. Kind of small on counter space in there, but it worked fine. The living area had a couch and love seat, both of which were comfortable. The dining table had chairs for 6. Lot's of large glass windows to view the backyard were in the family room. French doors and another single door led to the backyard which was spacious. A large deck with chairs and a bench were on the deck. Several chairs and benches were in the backyard. The yard also had fruit trees, tons of flowers, a garden, redwood trees and little paths all around.
It was so quiet there at night, and we loved spending time outdoors. The house is a two story with the owners living in the upstairs portion part time. They weren't there when we were. The road off the main road to the house was railroad grade, which means crushed rock. Good luck finding it the first time if it's dark. The house is up the hill a few minutes from Moonstone beach. About 3 miles from the house is Trinidad. Easy on and off access from the freeway. We didn't see too many neighbors, but the ones we passed were friendly and waved.
The laundry room is shared. This means that the housekeepers have a separate entrance into the laundry room do get cleaning supplies and use the washer/dryer for other properties. The door from the hallway into the laundry room locks from the hallway side, so we felt pretty safe leaving our stuff without anyone snooping. The key is in a lock box by the front door which you will be given the number for when you get your instructions. There is a separate key inside the house to carry with you so you leave the lockbox key in it. Plenty of parking space. The floor in the main area was cement and painted yellow with flower designs on it. One of the owners is an artist, and painted the floor and added her touches around the place.
I really can't say enough good about this rental, and hope to stay here again several more times when we fly up to visit our kids. We found a few cobwebs on some of the decorations on the walls, but other than that, the place was very clean.

“Magical cozy garden”

The garden and grounds are magical, something to explore every which way just walking around the yard. House was clean and tidy, lots of nick-nacks, lots of books, easy to find anything we needed. Mattresses could use some updating, but sheets and pillows were nice. More bowls would have been nice, and some of the dishes were dirty that were put away. Bathroom and back bedroom had 2 distinctly different, but weird smells. House was so cozy and great for kids. Proximity to beaches and forest was excellent, and still close enough to some restaurants and grocery.
