Very busy but the wait wasn't so bad as you can shop while you wait. We had the following items:
1. Various steamed dumplings ***
Good but not memorable.
2. Cucumber salad ****
Very crisp n tasty. Good palette cleansing.
3. Noodle with spicy sauce ****
So good we ordered 2 portions.
4. Sauteed Spinach with Garlic****
Simple but cooked to perfection.
5. Pork chop Fried rice *******
So perfectly stir fried where the rice is not greasy and has a soft chewy bite to it along with yummy pork chops.
This dish alone is enough for me to want to come back again and again. Good price point for their dish but portion a bit on the small side. Good thing they have many standout dishes to balance off my disappointment of their famous dumplings.

We had been to the one in San Jose several times and wanted to try it again this Labor Day. Got there at 10:50 and the line was forming. The spicy beef soup was good but not as hot temperature wise as we would have liked and the generous beef pieces could have been cooked longer. The XLB were very good, as good as we've ever had. This time we had the pork chop appetizer and it was very good and tender.

We visited DTF a second time and felt the food was just OK. The pork bun was more like a pork meatball bun. The pork dumplings were OK but we have had better at ROC in WLA. The staff are nice enough but the food is average at best.

Have been to the Din Tai Fung in Glendale and Arcadia. This one in the Del Amo Shopping Center did not disappoint! Yes, had to wait on a Saturday afternoon, but at least there were a few seats nearby and of course lots of shopping. Even grabbed a couple Cinnabon bites to tide us over for the 20 - 45 minute wait, which actually was less than 20 minutes. Their text messaging system is great - nice to be able to walk around and be called when they are ready for you. They definitely have the best and most consistent xiao long bau (steamed soup dumplings) around - super fresh, hot and tasty every time. Green beans are my favorite - never had a bad plate of these. Sticky rice dumplings - my daughter's fave are pretty and delicious. Fried rice is nothing exciting, but still good. Noodles are excellent. Service excellent - what more do you need?
