“Splendid Relaxation!”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

An unforgetable experiance! Relaxation, gourmet food, lovely rolling hills, vineyards and wineries to expore. Carriage Vineyards offers immaculate clean facilities with personal care from the gracious staff. This is the kind of experience that you will share with others and highly recommend. From the moment you arrive in the lush green surroundings you are treated like family by Larry the owner of Carriage Vineyards. You may view the well maintained collection of antique carriages from all over the world as an added bonus to the B & B. In addition, Larry takes you on a tour of the vineyards and provides an education on the processes involved in setting up a vineyard and growing fantastic grapes and olives. His grapes are well sought after by wine makers due to the high quality. Wines, earning medals, from Larry's grapes are available for purchase along with his olive oils pressed from olives grown on the property. Samples of his olive oils and unique vinigars are part of the B & B experience. They are thoughtfully placed in the kitchen and relaxation areas of the B & B as snacks.

The rooms far exceed other facilities we have stayed in located on site in vineyards around the world. The rooms are so clean and warm with beautiful family heirlooms that create a warmth you will always remember! This is one of the finest B & Bs you will ever experience. Thank you Larry for the unforgetable stay at your paradise and your personalized attention to details! Debbie

Easy booking, easy check in. Elegant living room. Big room with Jacuzzi.
Like the country feeling to it. Very quiet. Very good breakfast. Kitchen is well stocked.

Really wanted to like this place more than we did. Our trip south from Monterey was detoured when the southbound lane of Rt.1 fell into the Pacific and the weather was especially cold and rainy. Neither the fault of Carriage Vineyards but then we were greeted by... an envelope taped to the front door. However, it was Zin Fest weekend and the winemaker proprietors were busy.

Also, just a personal quirk, but I’m not fond of fluorescent lights on the kitchen ceiling or faux stucco mustard yellow walls/ceilings with burgundy carpets/bath fixtures (in the Victoria Suite, where the room thermostat is Outside of the room??). And to top it off, the (burgundy) toilet intermittently ran by itself and the alarm clock blinked, after an apparent overnight power outage, because of a missing backup battery.

Details. Details.

Curiously enough with all that being said, I would consider a return visit (during warmer sunny weather) to take advantage of the central wine tasting location, the pool, and to tour the vineyards/olive groves on the property.

We do appreciate input and we do try to watch the details. We are flexible on arrival times because we find people rarely arrive when they say. So to be sure they know they are welcome, we post the informative letter and meet up later if not there right then. We have other things to do here on the ranch; we are way too small to be there all the time. The thermostat is for the second floor and it would not be good for all those on the second floor to have access. We do repairs upon notification and the flapper on the toilet was replaced the next day. The clock only needed to be set - the weather was stormy. Most guests like the warm decor which is pictured in our website along with the lighting which is bright in the kitchen so we can see well. Again thanks and we are pleased the guest would like to return. Larry

We had a short time to have a lot of relaxation!
We stayed at Carriage Vineyards for 3 nights and it was delightful. It's located in a lovely area amid vineyards and green farmland. Our accommodations were cozy and the breakfast was hardy making it a good start for our day. This B & B is centrally located so you can either explore the coastline or leisurely enjoy the area's winetasting. Additionally, the owner and staff were quite accommodating. We learned about vineyard farming and the process of making olive oil. It was great fun! Don't miss this charming spot.

We stayed at the Carriage Vineyards B & B this year while visiting my wifes college roommate who lives in the area. It was a wonderful experience. We were the only guests this day and since the caretakers live offsite, we had the whole house to ourselves. Everything we could possible need was provided. Leigh Anne cooked us a wonderful breakfast. A great experience all around. We would highly recommend the B & B. We will be staying here again when we are in the area.
