We love going to Chin's!

Our server tonight was Jean. What a delightful woman! She was kind, and came by frequently to clear dishes, provide refills, and to just check to see if all was well.

We had the yummy wor won to soup, the pupu platter, moo shi pork, and honey walnut shrimp - too much food (yayyyyy for leftovers)!

We buy an Entertainment Book every year. There are 2 online coupons - look for them. We saved $14!

Can't wait to go back!

Thank Lepha

Awesome food, great atmosphere, and a great time. The perfect combination for a fun evening. The food is the tops, the service is great and it is a very nice restaurant. You can't go wrong going here. I had the Mongolian Beef and loved it. One of the best I have ever had. This is highly recommended.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch special of Henan Chicken strips with hot & sour soup as an appetizer. The chicken was served with a spicy sauce (this is a Szechuan restaurant), a variety of vegetables (peppers, onions), and a side dish of rice. The food was served promptly, and was quite warm when we received it. The service was excellent.

Chin’s Gourmet has the investment to a very nice set up, and it shows. Elegant beyond similar Chinese competitors, right away one expects to pay more, and it is so. They are very tight in the amounts, starting with the much smaller plates in which entrees are dispensed. That would not be an issue, if indeed superior quality food was served, but after several visits we finally realized, without a trace of a doubt, that their food lack gourmet skills. Bland, unsophisticated food, does not merit $18.95 cost. We decided is such a hit and miss situation, that whoever does the cooking is just an average cook, and that most likely their food as as good as it will ever be. They have an extensive menu, so I am not insinuating that every single selection is just so so. I am just saying that generally their food is nothing to admire, and if it helps a little, Chinese food in the area is never exceptional, just average. This time we ordered two seafood dishes, both valued at $18.95, from their specialty section, and both, besides the fact that one included fake crab, were barely acceptable plus very small. Ordered also a Shrimp Fried Rice, and the rice was old. What gourmet place is going to serve yesterday’s rice. The steamed rice was even more noticeably stale. Must say their Won Ton Soup was better, and their Salt & Pepper wings were okey. Maybe they are trying their best, based on their cooking skills, but Chin’s Gourmet is not a 5 Star place. Consistent good food is not the norm, and it kind of shows with the number of patrons. Better than Panda Express, but not a powerhouse of good Chinese food, and that is for sure. 3 Stars.

We were staying at the nearby Fairfield Inn, so we stopped in for an early dinner.

We were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us immediately. The waiter was there quickly and offered suggestions on the menu. We both opted for a "dinner special" which for $1 more, is one of the luncheon specials. I had the scallops and my wife had the walnut chicken. Both were flavorful and fresh. The scallops were sweet and tender. All the food tasted extremely fresh. The specials included a soup and an egg roll along with rice and the main course.

This is an "upscale" Chinese restaurant (table cloths, linen napkins) but the prices were very reasonable. The staff is friendly and attentive without hovering or being obtrusive.

I highly recommend Chin's Gourmet.. and I know we will return when we next visit Temecula.
