Having grown up locally, our visiting 'military' son suggested that Richie's might be a good choice for breakfast with his 2 year old daughter. We arrived midmorning, midweek. Though lots of customers, there were plenty of tables. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was excellent. When our granddaughter began getting fussy, my son observed that most places bring the little kids' food promptly to occupy them. Her food arrived at the same time as most of our order. Her scrambled eggs were too hot for her to eat, but my wife's were barely lukewarm. My wife's French toast was very good, but her bacon was way overcooked. My breakfast sampler was just great. My son's Eggs Benedict with salmon arrived later than the rest of the food. He gave it a 2 out of 10, citing a number of deficiencies. As we were driving off, he stated that he should have known to order something easier to cook. Putting it on the menu, especially as a house speciality, suggests that the item will be properly prepared.
