We just returned from Sonoma on our 20th anniversary trip and we're excited to stay at the Inn based on great reviews. Check in was fine and the nightly wine and cheese was a nice touch. We stayed in room 26 at the newer Vintners building in a king spa room. This building is in from on rt 12. We noticed going to our room on the second floor that the hallway carpet was stained as well as the chairs in our room making them less inviting to sit by the gas fireplace. That night we hardly slept as the mattress was well worn and sunken down to hard springs. It groaned every time we moved. We reported it to the front desk the next morning and asked them to remedy it which they said they would. When we returned that evening around dinner to sleep as we were exhausted from our restless night we asked another front desk staff if it had been fixed. She seemed unaware but looked up on the computer and said it was all set. When we settled in to sleep imagine our surprise that it was the same uncomfortable mattress. Last night in Sonoma we retired early and still no rest. We reported it again early the next morning and they said they would make note of it. At an inn of this caliber I would expect more. They need to have good mattresses, pillows and soft sheets for $300 a night. We stayed at other Sonoma hotels along the way for less cost and a great nights sleep. Hampton inn in Windsor was half the price and fine. We had one night at the Fairmount down the road and it was wonderful and cost less than the Inn at Sonoma booming online through otel.com. This experience and the inns lack of interest in making us comfortable with the basics, was a lousy way to end our trip not to mention a $600 plus bill for not sleeping. There don't appear to be any manager on site as no one contacted us or followed up on our experience.

Staff was incredible, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was phenomenal. When checking in there was a table of snacks (cheese and crackers, grapes) and red or white wine to choose from. Location was within a short walking distance to Sonoma plaza. Room was very comfy and cozy. It was like being home. Safe location especially if you are traveling solo. I enjoyed my stay. Will definitely stay there again as well as any of the other Four Sisters Hotels.

We had booked a vintners king with spa room, and found the room on the very small side. The spa tub has four jets which also is on the small side. The amenities are very good the room was always cleaned well and we appreciated having a small fridge in our room.
It was sad the the wine was the same each day but the cheese and food offered in the afternoon is very good.
The breakfast buffet is small in selection but big in taste. Having something simple like hard boiled eggs would be nice.
Like many hotels they advertise not changing your towels if you hang them up to save water. This was not respected, our towels were new each day or really folded amazingly.

We like the location of this Inn as we can walk to the center of town from the Inn and there are no parking fees. The rooms have fireplaces and there is a jacuzzi to lounge in after wine tasting. Breakfasts are yummy as is the daily wine and cheese pairings in the lobby. We meet interesting people and share our wine finds with them.

Room Tip: We like the second floor near the Jacuzzi, but far enough away to still be peaceful.

The Inn in Sonoma was our last night on a vacation that took us from SFO airport up the Northern Coast of California through Central Coast of Oregon and across through Bend, Oregon and back down to fly out of SFO. Our last day was spent in Napa and Sonoma and had not booked a hotel for the night. We have previously stayed in many of The Four Sisters Inns over the years and made a very last minute call to see if they had opening at the Inn at Sonoma as luck would have it, Robert the manager answered the phone and said yes they had one room left for the night. Upon arrival we found Robert very charming and willing to make our stay everything we had hoped it would be. All of the family owned Inns serve afternoon wine and cheese as well as a hardy breakfast to send you on your way in the morning. The room was large with homey touches makes each room a relaxing place to unwind. I would say from the soft towels, large soaking tube, really comfortable bed my only complaint would be the room we had as a last minute traveler was up front by a busy road and we did have some traffic noise. If you find your self with time to make a reservation a head of time, ask for a room in the main building. We will be back and found it a perfect ending for our trip.

Room Tip: Main building and away from traffic noise
