We had the continental breakfast buffet, which included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit (strawberries), bagels and dry cereal. The eggs were very good, cooked perfectly! The strawberries were sweet and fresh, and the sweetened yogurt was a good pairing with the fruit.
Our server made sure that we did not ru out of hot coffee. Tables overlook a courtyard, so the view is pleasant and tranquil. A nice way to start off the day!

We spent the 3 days at the Petersen Village Inn. In order to make things convenient we decided to have dinner there one of the nights. It was a very, very good idea!
The main course choices were Petite Filet, Salmon, and Chicken Province. Each one was prepared with such excellence that we all wanted to try each others.
For our group they planned on a 3 course dinner. The first course was Tomato Bisque or Spinach salad. The tomato bisque was rich and tasted like a great tomato.
The Spinach Salad was excellent and was beautifully prepared.
The third course was either Creme Brule or Coconut Torte. They were with every single calorie. The flavors were distinctive so you had no doubt that the coconut was real coconut and the creme brule was rich and flavorful
The service was efficient. All requests were taken care of with great humor and quick attention.
Great lighting was the secret that created a restful and warm feeling. The ene,rgy , of course, was the dinner company added to the great food and the great service.
If the restaurant can take care of 45 people and have every single one happy ,then, you can be assured that they are equipped to handle your oder with the same service.
The staff did a fabulous job and we loved the whole evening.

Good food and service in the small hotel dining room overlooking the patio. We enjoyed the chicken in lemon butter sauce with capers as well as the Wiener Schnitzel. Would be nice to include a salad with dinner but unfortunately everything is a la carte so can be a bit pricey. Reasonable wine list.

The food at Cafe Provence is wonderful and I've been there many times to enjoy some of the old world type dishes from top restaurants from decades ago like Coq au vin. Desserts are fabulous and the restaurant and Inn feels like staying at an old world top quality hotel in Europe. Don't miss it!

While staying in Solvang, we saw the two previous excellent reviews of this restaurant. We went and were very pleased with the overall value in this $40 to $50 per person range. The food and preparation quality was very high. The atmosphere was very quiet but not too formal. For us, this was a very, very good fit.
