Very nice, especially if you can get a room with a bay view. Breakfast was wonderful, as was the evening wine happy hour. Our room was spacious. No elevators so be prepared to haul your luggage, but the front desk person helped us. Overall though it was a really nice stay in a great location

Room Tip: Call and ask, some "bay view rooms" have a sliver of a view

We stayed in Sausalito for a couple of days this was by far the best. They include breakfast ,and wine at the afternoon. No other hotel that we knew of had the same service they offered at the price we payed. Their staff is so friendly, it made it feel like home. If We come back someday soon this will be definitely the first option!

This was our first time staying at this hotel and being used to Hyatt hotels, didn't really know what to expect. The hotel is off the Main Street on a hill. Parking is limited, as stated, but we managed ok. They have a second area round the back with additional spaces which we found easier to walk to the bay. A member of staff helped with our cases but wouldn't take a tip but I insisted. The room is very large with adequate windows for plenty of light. The balcony had a table and chairs and looked across the bay with a limited view due to the room being set back, but this was still ok. As advertised, there is no air con but they do supply 3 large fans. We happened to be there when it was very hot, our room stat hit 81 degrees one night, which was uncomfortable and with the fans drone we didn't sleep too well. The breakfast was more than adequate and they also supply trays to take the food back to your room,if you wish, which we ate on the balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. One thing we did ask for was a safe as there is not one in the room. Reception stated that she hadn't been asked this before but could speak to the manager and he would go and buy one for us, which I appreciated is going above and beyond. I declined as were only there for 3 nights. Maybe to put safes in the rooms would be a nice touch. Free cheese and biscuits late afternoon meant if you had returned then, again, you could help yourself, take back to your room and sit on the balcony. Overall this was a good experience and even with the air con and safe problems, would stay here again.

We stayed here three nights a few weeks ago. At first we were dismayed because all the (very limited) parking spots were full when we arrived. But the staff immediately solved the problem (and what we didn't know from the on-line info is that they have a separate parking area around the corner, so they have at least one space for each room). Note that parking is $20 per day. The ambiance is warm and friendly and there always seemed to be pleasant soothing music playing in the lobby during daytime hours.

Another issue arose when I discovered our ground floor room had a large window with a broken lock. I mentioned this to the front desk and thought her response was just a "we don't worry in Sausalito". However, when we got back after being out most of the day, I was delighted to discover a new lock on the window. So we were very happy with their actual response.

Our room (Maple) was not small, but not big, and the only place to sit was the bed - there are bigger (and more expensive) rooms, and some may actually have a view, but we're not sure. However, since we were on the first floor, we also had easy access to the large lobby/breakfast/sitting area, so it really wasn't an issue. There is no air conditioning, but there were 2 fans in our room and it was cool enough at night to be comfortable. During the day it could get a bit stuffy, but why come here if you plan to stay in the room all day?

Location-wise this is a place to be. A few minutes walk to the main downtown area and ferry landing (a word of warning - the downtown shops seem to close up early. There may have been some restaurants opened late, but the shops along the main street all rolled-up their carpets before 9 p.m.). The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful with local information and we couldn't have felt more welcomed and supported. Breakfast was excellent - cereals, granola bars, fruit, pastries, juices, coffee.

Overall we were sorry to leave after three nights.

We only stayed one night but it was wonderful. The cocktail hour is lovely and the breakfast is fantastic. So much fresh fruit!!
If you stay get the bay view room--the view is worth it. The people there are wonderful and so service minded.

Room Tip: Get the bay view room.
