“Lovely Time Travel with Modern Conveniences”

You will love this hotel and be so happy you chose it! My 18 year old daughter and I visited here four nights May 27-31, 2012, as a treat for her high school graduation. We completely felt safe here and loved the ambiance, decor, and feel of this 1933 hotel. From the moment we drove up and valet parked and walked past the luxurious breakfast being served on the veranda...to the moment we left, sad we had to leave such a lovely hotel.....our time here was wonderful. The staff was more than helpful and the valet men were gracious and ever so polite and helpful. Even waiters in Santa Monica oohed and aahed when we told them we were staying here. We were proud of the choice. I agree with other reviewer that the elevator is small but it was built in the 1930s again. The room was gorgeous and we had a partial view of the pier. The sheets were soooo clean which is heavenly. We made sure not to touch any of the food in the mini bar area because they had sensors on them and it would be charged to our room but there was a free keurig coffee machine there to use that I loved. Yes, the bathroom was small by todays standards but not too bad.....had been remodeled so it was nice and clean. Not any counter space in bathroom but there was a glass ledge we put our makeup on. Small closet that looked like it was built in 1930s but not dirty or anything,,...just small. My main happy points here are: CLEAN, SAFE, nicely furnished, helpful and kind staff. Oh, I forgot to tell you that it is so easy to walk across the street to the Pier and also two blocks behind hotel is 3rd street Promenade....the big shopping area in Santa Monica. Easy to get to off I-10. I travel a lot and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: We did not pay extra for an ocean front room....had partial view. I liked it that we could leave ou...

We just plain love this place. Just stayed one night coming home from San Francisco and got good old room 604 (our favorite suite). Thanks guys for another good, restful stay! This was our 13th stay at this establishment and we'll be back when life on the ranch permits. Thanks Georgian!

This hotel does just about everything right. The rooms are nicely furnished with all the mods and cons that you can expect from a modern hotel (incl. coffee machine brewer). Located in a refurbished building with Georgian architecture it overlooks the Santa Monica Pier and kilometres of splendid beach. The hotel is located nearby a myriad of casual and fine dining restaurants. You won't be lost for eating options.

The service is excellent and hotel's staff always attentive and friendly, however considering the price these are features you expect. The hotel also provides an evening turn down service which is a nice touch. Our room was very clean.

This hotel isn't cheap. We booked months in advance and paid in excess of US$250 per night. Car parking is $26 per day and additional coffee pods are $2.00 plus tax. This adversely impacts on value for money.

Sleep quality was very good but our room was located beside a cleaning/maintenance station and we could hear the movements of room servicing staff at times throughout the day/night.

Overall, highly recommended if the price falls within your budget.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the staff/room service areas (near the external fire escape). We stayed in...

We thoroughly enjoyed our too brief stay at this charming old style hotel
It is right on the ocean and the restuarant has fantastic views
We enjoyed an excellent breakfast and lunch there
The hotel is only a few minutes walk from third ave shopping area
We loved the decor of the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and rooms large and well appointed
The staff were great and we were able to extend our stay for half a day at half the daily tariff
We will definitely be staying there again

a beautiful hotel, close to the beach, has over 70 years old, class rooms, small restaurant but with great service and menu. But far the best was the personal attention we receive with my wife, very worried about our stay and we spent it well.
Thanks a Michael, Camile, Douglas, Ron, and Edwin.
