“Nice hotel, friendly staff”
Reviewed 15 April 2012 via mobile

We stayed here on our roundtrip between san francisco an san diego.
The hotel is quite big. We booked by priceline and asked for a tower room, because we read in reviews that this were the most spacious rooms. It was possible but we had to pay an additional 20 dollars because the rooms in the towers are more expensive. So thats a reminder when you book by priceline.
Together with the additional 20 dollar we paid quite a lot for a room for 1 night.
It was a very spacious room. Nice and clean. With a refrigerator and coffee maker.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel is quite big and the location isn't really interesting but for our purpose perfect.
The internet was good. Strong signal, not superfast, but acceptable. We experienced slower in larger hotels.
So an overall good experience. Price/quality was ok.

Thank you for your review of our property. We do serve as a nice stopover for anyone traveling along the coast as we are located midway. We do offer fairly close proximity to the freeway and are happy to hear that our Inn served you well. Thank you for relating your booking tips to potential customers. If seeking a specific section of the Inn, you may always call us directly to price match as well. Thanks for your feedback and we will hope to have you back with us again soon...take care!

We made a quick trip to Santa Maria to see a production at PCPA's Theaterfest. I have always wanted to try this hotel so we decided to reserve for one night. The room was nice, clean, but a little small. For the price, and no "free" breakfast it was a little disappointing compared to other places we have stayed. The bed was a queen and was VERY comfortable! I was wanting to hear about or see info on the fact that this hotel is "haunted" but I did not see or hear anything about it.
We decided to have a glass of wine in the bar late that evening. The service in the bar wasn't great, but we got what we wanted and the wine was good and reasonably priced.
IF money were NOT a concern, I would spend a little more for a bigger room and stay at this hotel again. I would like to try more of the food venues offered and find the "ghosts"!

Thank you for staying with us while in town for PCPA! We appreciate you making the trip to experience both our Inn and the Theatrefest. We are glad you were able to enjoy some of the aspects of the hotel and invite you back to experience the property for a weekend. If you like wine and theatre, this is a great place to enjoy both! Come back and take in another play and give the Foxen Canyon Wine trail a try with our Wine Package. Enjoy a deluxe tower room, breakfast for two, a passport booklet to the local wineries and a picnic boxed lunch for two to take on your tour. A day of wine tasting coupled with dinner in our Garden Room Restaurant, will make for a great stay! Thank you for sharing your experience and we can't wait to have you back.

Stayed here with three friends in April 2011 for one night only.. We pulled into the hotel and it was as we expected. Decor focusses on the past, but fitting in line with it`s history,so why not ? Rooms were both large and clean. Great breakfast, all in all good value for small cost of stay.. Pool area was lovely although our weather was not, so we missed out on poolside. Courtyard area for drinks was very pleasant. Staff could not have been nicer. Close by is a school where it is said Marilyn Monroe attended for short time. Not much to do locally so a photo on school steps is an idea. We came to Santa Maria to experience the drive in movie, sadly not many remain it seems in California.. Yeah that was an experience. Shows not that frequent, but go do it .....

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn`t overlook the carpark

We appreciate your feeback from your stay with us. It sounds like you were here when the weather was a bit chilly, but we are glad you were able to enjoy your stay with friends. We thank you for noting the charm our hotel exudes, as we do try to replicate the era in which our hotel came to be with rich woods, patterned fabrics and cozy fireplaces. You will have to return again to the Inn during our warmer season and experience the pool, the local markets and fairs, and of course, our drive in movies! We hope to see you back soon.

Stayed one night in a queen room. It was very comfortable, if a little small, but for one night we were fine. We had dinner in their dining room and it was excellent, prices were also very good. Couldn't have asked for better service and the food was delicious. Our room overlooked the courtyard with a fountain and was very quiet. We enjoyed exploring the hotel and reading about different celebrities that had stayed here, saw no ghosts! We would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

Stayed in the Jacuzzi Suite. Wouldn't have it any other way. Gorgeous Suite with Bay Window, Nice Views, Fireplace, Bedroom, Kitchenette, and Master Bath. Had to nosey around the "haunted" rooms (older part of Hotel) where Marilyn Monroe and other Celebrities have stayed. Saw a few "strange" things happen like a vending machine working on its own and a fork and knife appear out of nowhere. We found it too funny rather than scary. Must say if there are ghost, they are very friendly:-)

Room Tip: Definately recommend the newer Jacuzzi Bath Suite. Gorgeous Suite with Bay Window, Nice Views, Fire...
