We absolutely LOVED our experience at West Cliff Inn! It was our first time in Santa Cruz, as well as a mini honeymoon for us. We loved everything about the inn. The Deluxe King Spa (Room #8) was gorgeous. It was on the top floor with great views of the beach. It was a huge room with a full living area and a spectacular bathroom (huge marble shower and lovely jacuzzi bathtub). The staff was incredible - kind and helpful. While we didn't partake in much of the "full" breakfast because we are vegan, we did start our morning each day with delicious fruit and coffee in the lovely dining area before embarking on our Santa Cruz adventures. The 5 pm wine hour was fantastic after a day hiking or exploring beaches. At night, we fell asleep to the sounds of waves crashing on the beach and sea lions barking! Best sounds ever. The entire inn felt lovely and luxurious. And it was immaculately clean (most important thing to me).

Room Tip: We loved the top floor King Spa room. It's huge! And the bathroom was gorgeous.

The Four Sisters never disappoint. But this is the first time we've visited West Cliff Inn. We were delighted with the beautiful space, convenient location, generous food & beverage offerings and the friendly staff.

Room Tip: The attic room was quiet but warm. Even though there were young children staying at the Inn while we were there, we didn't hear them.

Beautiful room in beautiful Italianate house in good location. Staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful. Cheese & wine and breakfast were just what we wanted. The best stay so far on our Highway 1 road trip.

West Cliff Inn was the 5th stop on our road trip. First time to Santa Cruz and it was easy to find with parking available.
We arrived quite early but were still allowed to check in. Our room was room 1 on the ground floor just around the corner from reception. This hotel was quite different to any other we stayed in, it only had a few rooms and almost felt like we were staying with friends.
The hotel provided breakfast which was absolutely fantastic, freshly baked ginger and cranberry scones were to die for. There was a hot dish provided maybe a quiche or something similar, bread, plenty of fresh fruit, eggs etc. It was all beautiful and very fresh.
Our room was large with a really high ceiling and a fire, also a fridge with refillable water bottles, the only thing it didn’t have was a safe but the reception staff were happy to keep our passports for us. Fresh baked cookies were also provided every day.
The bed was huge and very comfortable, I did walk into the wooden bed leg however and currently still have a broken toe, hardly the fault of the hotel but ouch, be careful.
The only problem we had was that the room was really noisy as the wheelie bins were lined up outside and the bin wagon made such a lot of noise first thing in the morning. I think we must have also been next to the kitchen and all that lovely home baking woke us up in a morning.
I can’t say this enough but it really was a lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. A great find.

A friend and I spent one night at the West Cliff Inn and I would highly recommend it. The woman at the counter whose name of course I don't remember was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were there in time for happy hour and when she saw we were going out to the chairs on the front stoop she redirected us to the balcony so we could enjoy the wonderful view. The breakfast was delicious. The location is great. We took the trolly into downtown after we arrived and took a bike ride on the bike path before we left the next day. The only down falls were that we were in the downstairs unit in front that had a lot of street noise (especially when the trash trucks came before 7!) it is also in a tricky part on the street and when using gps the driveway comes up before the address.
