Oak taglatelle, mussels and tri tip - fantastic. portions not too big - just perfect.
amazing bread and butter offered is done with a garlic touch just right. they dont leave you bread basket but offer you one piece. you ask for more. i liked that but felt they were short on bread as they didn't offer to whole table if one person asked for more.
Beignet desert (not something i would normally order) with pistachio i think...was amazing! we all loved it - my 14 yr old included.
ONE DISAPPOINTMENT: Pork ribs. Too fatty, not much meat. None of us liked it. And it was the most pricy entree we ordered.
We will go back for the tri tip and fresh bread. Yum.
inventive oak tag dish was lovely and we appreciate the unique pairings of fresh ingredients in the dishes....Delish!
Oh and server David was fantastic! He cheered up my daughter. Thank you David and team.
(we would give it a 5 had we not had the pork dish....but we will be back soon!)

The food is very good but quite a limited menu and hardly affordable a 17 dollar hamburger is affordable?) The service needs a lot of work and the atmosphere is far from wonderful.

I really wanted to give a higher rating but my Tri-tip and beans are better than theirs. Located three blocks off of State St. We made reservations from the website. Truly going for a haute experience and frequented by locals. The menu is limited and if you are a meat and potatoes person skip this place. Beets were good. The Raviolio was very good. Salads are salads. The food is very affordable, the wine expensive but very good. The server really knows the menu and wine pairings. That said, consider bringing your own wine and paying the corkage fee. The very special thing about this place is the Chef personally sees EVERY dish before it is served. Nice touch.

....... Tri-Tip you ever had and then multiply it by 10!! This gives you some idea of what you are in store for if you order this amazing dish at this trendy Santa Barbara restaurant. "Barbareno" may sound like character from the 1970's TV series Welcome Back Kotter, but instead its a crazily inventive restaurant that serves fresh, bold, tasty and modern Californian food in a cool space. Don't leave without trying the Scotch eggs appetizer! Fabulous!

Fantastic meal at Barbareno. The food is great and they combine an amazing mix of flavours that all compliment each other. The service is flawless too. The wine list is pricey, but all locally sourced and the staff know the wines really well so you don't feel like you're being over charged.

Thank Daryl S
