This is a fantastic little hotel in santa barbara with reasonable rates. that isn't something you can say about many places in the area.

The rooms are great - plenty of space with cute layouts. Great bathrooms and products. They have a free movie rental / dvd player in the room if thats what you want to do. A wine bar in the lobby. Free parking. Free internet. Very helpful staff.

We made a reservation last minute and they gave us the room right across from the elevator. You couldn't even tell once inside the room. Very quiet hotel with a cute courtyard where you can sit out in the sun.

The room had a private balcony and fireplace which was great.

Breakfast was included. It was a standard breakfast with quiche, fruit, yogurt, toast, coffee, milk, juice. It was all fresh though and you can sit out in the sun to enjoy it along with your free morning LA Times.

Stay here.

We planned to stay in this hotel according to the good reviews; I called the hotel and a young woman (Ivumi?) said they didn't have any double rooms (the cheapest) and advised me a majestic suite (certainly one of the most expensive), she certified me there were no other available room. some of our friends who wanted to go with us called a couple of days later, and this young woman said they had a double room available: my friend told me and I just called a few mins later, Miss Ivumi told there were no double rooms!!!!
I understood she didn't want to give a "cheap" room (not so cheap really...), and when I asked to change, she advised me a junior suite that was just 20 dollars cheaper for a suite much smaller!!!moreover, she was very difficult to understand and a little bit stubborn, I mean not providing a 'top of notch" service. If the management of this wonderful hotel read this, please ask her to be more listening and understanding the client, and not trying absolutely to give the most expensive room, saying nothing else is available, jusy after having told differently to another people!!!
so, before reserving your room, be sure you get precisely what you want, ant ask for a precise written confirmation!
this is not adequate with the quality and reputation of this hotel....

Room Tip: insist severely to get the true information!!

We are very sorry that we did not meet Mipougne’s expectations during her reservation experience. We pride ourselves on providing friendly and courteous service to all of our guests, in person and on the phone, and at the same time, matching them with the room best suited for their visit. We are a small Inn and the availability of each specific room type can change on a moment’s notice, so it is possible that the room requested was no longer available.

We continue to strive to exceed each and every guest’s expectations and work to ensure that all of our employees are knowledgeable, cheerful and confidant in handling our guest’s requests. We again extend our sincere apologies that this reviewer was not completely satisfied and hope that we have the opportunity to welcome her back in the near future!

Underground parking and close to downtown sites is a major benefit. But be sure you have a accurate map as the small city preserves its past with buildings and streets which are similar. The inn seems cramped but stylish. But the larger rooms with patios or decks are satisfying as the are a nice retreat from car-less sight seeing. Pool is small so excited children's voices can carry. Close-by mexican resturant Azul tops. Overall two nights or three enough but not for expansive vacationing. But one needs financial bravery to stay at Four Seasons for a weeks vacation.

Enjoyed this hotel - a cut above your average hotel. Touches of a B&B. Nice breakfast included.

This is a really beautiful hotel built in the spanish adobe style and it does ooze class. The reception was first class and our room was huge with a fireplace, lots of room, free wi-fi, a small terrace and a large, well presented bathroom.

One issue for us was the tiled floor. When the people above decided to drag their furniture around late at night and early in the morning, the noise was hideous. I guess they forgot that if it was loud for them, it was much louder for us!

There is no restaurant but Santa Barbara has many on offer so we ate out. We would have liked to buy a glass of wine and sit by the firepit when we got back but we couldn't track anyone down so we eventually gave up. Breakfast was OK if a little crowded as there were quite a few people around and it is all presented in a relatively small area.

It was very nice, great room (ignoring the inconsiderates above us) but it was more a large B&B than a hotel and we did feel we paid much more than it was actually worth but if you don't mind the cost, you'll enjoy it.
