On the spur of the moment, I decided to take a drive to Santa Barbara from Glendale to see 2 museum exhibits and enjoy the beach. I called the Eagle Inn and got a reservation for a great price and considered myself lucky that they had a room available during Easter Week. Again my expectations were exceeded in every way. They are in such a charming neighborhood, their service is excellent, and I parked my car in their convenient lot next door and walked everywhere until I checked out. Their breakfast has changed a bit since my last visit and is actually brought to you (as opposed to buffet) in the cute breakfast room. Since my room was next door, they brought it to me in my room--heaven!- and it was delicious--fresh fruit, orange juice and an amazing hashed eggs dish. I spent about 1 1/2 hours at the beach (2 block walk) and then visited the SB Historical Museum for their Flying A Silent Film Exhibit and shopped DT. My room was perfect for 1 or 2, charming and chic, building has great architecture and relaxing environment. 2 great days that were good for my soul--Thanks again!

We loved everything about our stay here. The inn itself is lovely. Great staff, good healthy breakfast and a fabulous location. The neighborhood is quiet and interesting to take a walk in and the waterfront is just a few blocks away. Also, the inn offeres bikes which for us is the best amenitiy of all. Santa Barbara is perfectly suited for biking and for three days we never got into our car. The only thing the inn lacks is a patio area that you can walk out onto right from the inn. There is an area off the parking lot that does not look too inviting and a small sitting are near the garage but many of the rooms do have balconies so if you are lucky enough to get this than its probably not an issue. We saw many places to stay in Santa Barbara but nothing looked better than the Eagle Inn.

Room Tip: From the looks of things the only room that looked like it would be noisy is the one next to the bre...

We have stayed at the Eagle Inn several times now and each visit has been absolutely wonderful. It is such a charming place. Each room has a different decor and they are all tastefully done. The staff is friendly, breakfast (delivered!) is delicious and it is such a romantic and serene place to stay. The beach is only a couple of blocks away. Any time we are near Santa Barbara or on our way up the coast, we stay here and will continue to do so. It's a gem!

Only 2 blocks from the waterfront and 5 from State St. - this is the perfect location for an inn in Santa Barbara. We loved it here - helpful staff, great breakfast with either eggs or yogurt/cereal. The rooms are quite spacious - larger than average, outfitted with TV, coffee maker, microwave, free WiFi - all the usual amenities. Sound insulation was good - no slamming doors or screaming kids could be hear - but we could hear the birds chirping outside in the morning. You can walk to everything from here. And the cost was surprisingly moderate. We would definitely stay here again.

We were looking for a Bed and Breakfast in Santa Barbara and were very happy with our selection of the Santa Catalina room at the Eagle Inn. Less than two blocks from the beach, it is a wonderful choice. It was a walk to town but we needed the exercise with all the wine tasting and eating that we had done. Having breakfast delivered to your room was a treat and I am happy to say it was hot when it arrived.
