If you've never had a Persian kabob, you're in for a treat. The small space is nicely decorated, clean and family friendly. My family and I shared the "Family #2" special which consisted of 6 kabobs, saffron rice, a salad, bread with onion basil and mint. After the four of us finished, there was enough food leftover for 2 lunches! I highly recommend this gem!

A surprisingly good place to go for middle eastern food. It seems to be fairly authentic and well prepared.

We like Persian/Middle East food for a change of pace. The food has a mild taste, nothing overly spiced. Both of us had the Lamb (Barreh) Kabob plus the side dishes that are included with the meal. Prices are reasonable, friendly service was average (three tables, three servers, yet I had to ask for another glass of wine). Ambiance is average strip mall America. Everything is clean and tidy. No TV (thank goodness). Parking is free, restaurant is 5 minutes off of Highway 101 in Central San Rafael. A great place for nights you don’t want to cook. If you want atmosphere – go somewhere else. If you want good food – give Kababbq a try. We will return.

We ordered via their Catering menu for our son's first birthday party: a chicken dish that was tasty, but an order of approximately 50 falafel that unfortunately were dry.

We called several weeks in advance and then communicated mostly via email. This unfortunately led to several miscommunications/ lack of communication between the manager and one of the employees. The manager communicated via an email that he later claimed he didn't use frequently, leading to long delays in responses.

When we picked up the food, the woman at the front overcharged us by $25 but claimed she charged the agreed-on price. After several unsuccessful tries to contact the manager, we finally lost interest in pursuing a refund.

I have been to Kababbq 6 times and each visit has been excellent.Large selection of Kabobs: Chicken , Shrimp, Beef, and Lamb. as well as homemade stews and other Persian Specialties . Dinners include Salad, Saffron Rice, Grilled Tomato. A wide selection of Appetizers are available. Reasonably priced Beer and Wines are available. Located in an unassuming shopping center adjacent to San Rafael Yacht Harbor off Francisco Blvd. Come hungry as the portions are large. If you are an experienced fan of Middle Eastern or it is your first time you will not be disappointed.
