I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was especially because the presentation was gorgeous. Many times food is displayed like a work of art on your plate but has no taste. Definitely not the case here: the food is finger licking good. When looking over the menu, I was not feeling anything on the menu. I decided on the Truffle Papparedell Pasta which was really good! The portions are not big or small. My sister got the lamb chops that she said were good as well and they accommodated her gluten free request for the sides that came with that dish. My other sister ordered Seard Scallops which were tasty as well. I am not a scallop fan; I don't like their soft sponge like texture. However, these scallops were seared where they had a bit of a crunch on the outside making them quite tasty. For appetizers we had: Wood Oven Roasted Shrimp which was just OK. The cream sauce seemed to be missing something, Heirloom Tomato Salad which tasted like more than a salad, and the Lobster Salad which was good and the lobster was fresh. The staff was friendly and their drinks are very good:

We were looking to have a relaxed casual dinner at a local restaurant with an exceptional menu.... Central Park Bistro fit the bill. We were greeted very nicely upon walking in and seated at a central table. Our waiter was excellent .... very attentive, but not bothersome. The BBQ ribs were delicious ... as was the sole, and the sea bass menu items. We topped the meal off by sharing an outstanding key lime dessert and after dinner coffee drinks. A word of advice...the restaurant is very popular with local diners so reservations are advised for diners of 5 or more. Great establishment, friendly service, excellent meals!!!

Wonderful small restaurant with a nice variety of food to choose from. The atmosphere is great and the noise level is very good compared to other restaurants on the street.

Walked in early for our dinner reservation so we sat at the bar. Great lady working it. She was so funny and the drinks were delicious.

We were seated early. We made reservations on open table. It got packed about 20 mins after we were seated. It took a few to get water and more drinks. Plus bread.

The food over all was good. I felt a bit over priced for some of the food that came in smaller quantities.

Dinner didn't have a whole lot of options. Tougher for Vegans for sure. Better chance for Vegetarians here. I had a pizza with no meat.

The bill came to about 400 for 7 people. Each of us had at least two drinks.

Very romantic feel inside and rather quiet. Best for a date not large loud parties.

We made reservations for dinner on a day when it was in the 90's in San Mateo. We knew we were in trouble when we drove up to the restaurant, and the doors and windows were open. The fire in the oven was blazing and it was nice and toasty in the restaurant. One of the waiters said the air-conditioner was not working well. We told them we could not stay, for fear of melting.
Get your air-conditioner fixed because you have a great menu and we want to experience your restaurant!
