No muss no fuss, know your order and tell the lady. When you are looking for some classic American BBQ and steaks this is your go to.

Excellent food, super casual joint. Steak, ribs, chops, taters....all really super good basic BBQ stuff....and no dressing up needed. Full bar. Great place for friends to gather for dinner/drinks. NOT fancy. Neighborhood can get kinda sketchy at the wrong times...and it can get VERY busy there if there's a Shark's game or something popular at the SAP center.

My first visit to Henry's Hi-Life and definitely not my last!
What I really liked about this restaurant is that it's different and unique - the interior, the people who come to eat, the servers, the food. I haven't found anything like it in San Jose.
If you're vegetarian or not a keen meat eater, it may be difficult to satisfy your taste buds here but if you're into meat, this may be paradise for you! We had the ribs and also a chicken dish which were excellent, they came with a baked potato and a salad (with a simple oil and vinegar dressing which was excellent!).
Parking can be difficult if there's something going on in the SAP Center so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

Henry's Hi-Life is an iconic restaurant in San Jose, California. Very casual atmosphere, friendly ambiance, no frills, no thrills decor...and really good food. The service is friendly and efficient. It may remind you of an old bar and restaurant from the Wild, Wild West with its wooden panels and old fashioned bar stools...unpretentious and fun!

Located in the reviving area in San Jose known as Little Italy, the building is a small two-story hotel from the 1870s. Henry's is a locals hangout that specializes in open flame cooking steaks, chicken and ribs. Seafood is also available. The service is cozy and informal. You wait in the ancient bar filled with memorabilia before going into the dinning area. If you like a particular wine best to bring a bottle.
