What a super pleasant surprise at $79 in the heart of high dollar establishments! If your looking for the full five star experience, go spend $150 down the road. Budget travelers to the northern California wine country can't go wrong here.
The exterior of the hotel makes it seems like you're on route 66 back in the day. The interior of our room appeared to be early 90's (or maybe late 80's?) but it was super huge, as was the bathroom. Very clean (it did smell of bleach just a bit, which could be considered a good thing). All the trimmings (fridge, micro, iron, coffee, etc). I was so pleased to see a whole bunch of sugar packets instead of the two you usually get. Even two logo'd wine glasses (available for purchase $3 each) and a complimentary cork screw.
We did not take advantage of the complimentary continental breakfast (which was very basic and served in the lobby - not a ton of places to sit) but did grab some fruit and a packaged muffin. Orange juice was fake Sunny D. don't let that deter you.
Location was good, about a mile from St Helena town center.More
