McKinley Park has been around for ages and it shows. Also, it's not a huge park as in William Land Park but it is an oaisis in a sea of uban living. I go there when they have events like Psyic/Massage fairs

“Great neighborhood park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2012

There's a good playground - lighted tennis courts - basketball courts - softball diamonds - a rose garden for stolling or weddings - a library branch -and a pretty duck pond with the best-fed ducks in town. The pool is not open often due to budget cuts. It's a very popular spot for large picnics.

“Great park for weddings and to feed the squirrels and ducks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2012

This is probably the best park in Sacramento. Great area, park surrounded by palm trees and upscale houses. I'd walk here, read, sit on benches and I'd bring a pound of peanuts to feed the hundreds of squirrels in this park! Squirrels are everywhere but especially in the trees near the geese and duck pond. I counted 30 in one of the large oak trees. A lot of fun tossing peanuts, bring your kids, fun for adults too. I'd walk here about every Sunday, reading near the rose arbor where they hold weddings on Saturday. If you feed the squirrels enough, they'll get to recognize you and eat right out of your hand!

“Ducks, trees, and a 1930s library/clubhouse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2012

also a playgrounnd for the kids, a one-mile walk around the perimeter for exercisers, and lots of green space for picnics. The library/community center built in the 1930s is a treasure, but may be closed for lack of city funds.
