We were greeted by Gayle & a plate of her freshly baked welcome cookies & fed the trout with Mark at their beautiful pond on our way out. This place is as heavenly as you can imagine from top to bottom, start to finish. Not a single, amazing detail was overlooked: the romance, comfort & privacy of the rooms, the hearty 5 star breakfasts, their knowledge of the area & local favored hot spots, the gorgeous property gardens, and - our personal favorite - the warm & cozy accomodation of our 4-legged K9 familiy member. :o) I could go on & on... They spare no expense to make this a truly unforgettable experience. Don't think twice about making this a must for your next weekend getaway!

We have lived here in this area for over 60 years and are glad that we chose Eden Vale for a B&B with a honeymoon experience like we had also found in Brittain in the 70s.
Eden Vale more than surpassed our expectations in every area.
The B&B is a remodeled barn and we stayed in rooms below on handmade clay tile floors. The decor included a fascinating collection of fabrics and sculptures, and interesting lighting. Mark started the gas fireplace in our room for us and demonstrated the remotes, including the 'romantic' setting for lighting!
We were going out to see the sunrise, which is beautiful in El Dorado, and happily made the trip back to Eden Vale for the breakfast.
Gail and Mark obviously love their B&B and have incredible energy for all of the hundreds of different plants, fountains, benches and sculptures on the outside, keeping the ranch flavor. There is a sunroom and inside fireplace dining for Gail's gourmet breakfast.
We asked for glutenfree and vegan and they were experienced and accomodated even us very well. Breakfast began with many kinds of coffees and teas, and freshly squeezed OJ [local tart oranges which woke me up!] and freshly pressed Apple Hill cider which had a delicious cinnamon flavor. The fruit salad starter was better than any I have made, which had a dozen delicious fruits thoughtfully cut up into it. It is hard to remember everything that was put out for breakfast. The herbs and spices and fresh vegies were perfect with the mood music and fireplace setting. What a wonderful breakfast! I barely had room. They even had vegan coconut almond yogurt, and the steel cut GF oats I requested. We left stuffed! I am publicity chair for the Celiac Sprue Association and I have reviewed many restaurants. I can say that the care that was taken here, in serving me a gluten free meal was exemplary.
There are bookshelves all over and the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Sacramento Bee and lots of local Mother Lode literature and maps and so on for tourists.
Mark gave us some much insightful pointers on our househunting quest.
We much appreciated all that we received here and would return in a heartbeat. Do we recommend this? Heartily! We hated to leave. It would be nice to have a longer stay.

Carmichael Reviewer, We are pleased to exceed your expectations including the vegan breakfast. I must say I love the muffins Gayle has come up with myself. Good luck with your house hunting. Your friends, Mark and Gayle Owner/Innkeeper

We made a reservation at the Eden Vale inn as a last minute decision to go to Apple Hill. I spoke with Mark who was very professional, friendly and helpful with making my reservation. The Inn was every thing we had hoped for and more. Both owners Mark and Gayle went out of their ways to make sure we had a wonderrful relaxing weekend. They put on a pizza party in the evening, each quest was treated to their own custom pizza baked in the inn's wood fire pizza oven. Local wine 's were enjoyed beside the toasty warm firepit with other guests we met. Breakfast in the morning was a delight with spinach quiche, crispy potatoes, fresh fruit and mouth watering baked goods. We stayed in the Stone Pine room. Kudios to the housekeeping staff who made sure it was spotless and shined. So many extras, like a cozy fireplace, outside private soaking tub, which we really enjoyed after a day spent up at Apple Hill. Pretty gardens and secluded areas to enjoy a good book or quiet conversation with that special person. Mark and Gayle included so may extra touches that were truely appreciated but to mention in my review would spoil some pleasant surprises. One work describes Eden Vale inn, FANTASTIC! Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a stay there.

This is a beautiful property. We went for our anniversary. Our first time at a B&B. Would not recommend this for kids. We stayed in the Live Oak room, which we thought was a little small, but was beautifully appointed. And romantic. We did enjoy the soaking tub out on our deck with a bottle of wine we purchased from the innkeeper. Mark & Gayle were very nice and helpful in answering our questions. Breakfast was delicious! We wandered around the lush gardens out back. Only a 15 minute drive to downtown Placerville. Lots to see and do in this beautiful gold country.

Every once in a while, one has the opportunity to experience an over the top accommodation that exceeds expectations. Eden Vale Inn is one such unique place and highly recommended! We were so impressed with our room and its many amenities such as our private soak tub outside the room, the "romantic" button for lightening, the gas fireplace, just real room comfort with exceptional detail. After a lovely evening and sleep, we were then treated to an amazing, abundant, and delicious breakfast with a choice of several eating places, inside or outside. This B & B makes you feel at home, like the home you dream about, with its beautiful warm and inviting atmosphere, whether relaxing inside the house, sitting in the evening at the outside fire pit next to the pond, or wandering along the pathways around the fantastic site layout of different levels of trees, shrubs, plants, and the vegetable garden. And the wonderful gracious hospitality, grace, and charm of Gayle and Mark was special in welcoming us and supporting our excellent, relaxing visit. Although it is a B & B, it feels more like a healing sanctuary! We left rejuvenated! Only wish we could have stayed longer!
