Called a month or two ahead to book three sites side by side and paid extra to lock the sites in so we could be side by side. Upon arrival we were told that our sites had not been locked and we were lucky to be side by side. Also they informed us that our sites had no cable because they had been upgrading the campground and adding patios. Our site was upgraded and had the new patio so we got a free upgrade and should be appreciative of that. Yes a concrete patio had been added to our site however there was mud between the concrete patio and the area where the RV is parked and none of our patios had the patio furniture that we were told was included when we checked in. Every other site around ours including the ones still under construction had the patio furniture. We travel in RVs and have very young children and while cable may not be important for a lot of Travelers it is for us because we are stuck in the trailer in the evenings with young children sleeping. And don't count on the antennas getting anything other than channels in other languages and one or two others. That is something they should have told us when we booked the sites. For all of our upset over their miscommunication in the office and treatment of us they came by with coupons for us for a free site lock on our next stay...as long as we make it back in the next 9 months before they expire. Overall we are very disappointed with the staff. They have the makings for a nice RV Park but no matter how nice they make it people will still have the same experiences because of their ignorant staff. They include wristbands for people to wear their entire visit so that they can access the amenities. while in the office a young girl came in probably 7 years old and ask to use the bathroom. The staff member proceeded to lecture a 7 year old on why she didn't have her bracelet on. I'm sorry but my children did not wear their bracelets during this trip. When we wanted to access an amenity we brought the bracelets with us. I get wanting to verify that she's a guest and didn't wander 3 miles from town to use their restroom but come on Don't lecture a child. For all the amenities they advertise on their website there were very few actually available. We came in March and because it was spring break they had a petting zoo open for 45 minutes per day and the jump pillow was open periodically. Don't come expecting all the amenities that they advertise or a helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay only because we made it enjoyable despite them.

I stayed in a studio lodge. Clean, comfortable bed, close to office and amenities. They were in process of resurfacing swimming pool so not able to use it. The staff was great as well as the owners. It was quiet, peaceful stay. Just what I was looking for. Had a great time.

We are so glad you enjoyed you stay in our studio lodge. We love that the studio lodges have become a camper favorite for couples and groups of 4 or less. The studio lodges really are adorable and convenient.

In October 2017, when my extended family and I were evacuated due to the Santa Rosa fires, Dennis, Melissa and the entire staff were extremely helpful and accommodating! All the hotels in the area were booked because hundreds of people were evacuated due to fire danger or homes burned. We were lucky enough to find the KOA so our family could stay together. The folks here arranged a cabin for my elderly in laws, another cabin for my elderly mom & her caregiver and an RV site for my husband and I to set up our trailer. The sites were all close so we could do the cooking for our parents and help them during this ordeal. The staff explained the fire situation to incoming guests with existing reservations and were able to modify arrangements so our parents could stay in the same cabin with only one move for my disabled mom. In fact, one very generous family was willing to cancel their plans and left their deposit as a gift to apply to my in-laws cabin; thank you to that unknown gracious family!

This campground is clean with many amenities including a lovely pool with many lounge chairs, clean bathroom facilities and playgrounds for kids.

Our family can’t say thank you enough to this KOA! We bless your business with prosperity and continued success!

Thank you for your heart felt comment. The Sonoma County fires were horrific and we were blessed to be able to provide a safe and caring location for people to regroup. I have to say we experienced the best of human kindness during these fires...people helping people and nurturing and caring beyond belief.
I was in awe of all of our staff who arrived at Petaluma KOA saying "how can we help?". Many businesses had to close due to lack of available staff. Even our staff that had their own homes evacuated showed up, knowing how important the service they provide is to the community. Proudly we were able to be a base for Sonoma County residents, fire fighters, insurance agents and crews here to help with cleanup and rebuilding.
I will never forget how Sonoma County was at it's best during the worst of times. Thank you to all of the guests who cut their vacations short to make room for people in need of a place to stay. #sonomastrong

Went there over Memorial Week. That was supposed to be the big kickoff for summer activities, but we found very little available. The Bocce Ball and Horseshoe pits were in such poor repair we couldn't use them, likewise the jumping pillow was broken. The park was way overcrowded and so many kids in the pool they had to shut it down due to contamination from human waste. There were so many campfires the air looked like Bejing on a bad day. We thought we could enjoy more of the amenities after the weekend crowd left. However, the park shut down the hayride and the petting zoo. The pool got no better as they hosted local schools for end of year parties, so it was still full. So, they advertise a lot of amenities but few are available.

Room Tip: This is a campground but they do have rental cabins too.

While we wouldn't normally check into a KOA campground we did when we were close to San Francisco. It is situated just slightly north of SF and on the 101 . Easy to get to and a lovely spot . We where there just before Halloween and I am blown away by the effort the park took for kids and family. Parade, trick or treating ... people even decorated their sites.
This is not the reason I write this review it is because we signed up in the park for a city tour of San Francisco . A bus takes you door to door.... But the most amazing tour guide we have ever experienced. His name is John and if I had family going to SF but not staying in the rv park I would highly recommend a tour with him as your guide.
He grew up in San Francisco as a boy and has a lot of stories to tell along with all the tour info and history you could possibly imagine. He is an extremely knowledgeable gentleman and it makes the tour absolutely delightful. We like good tours that you actually learn something and enjoy the interaction.
Both thumbs up on this.
