“Nice hotel with uncomfortable bed.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

Unfortunately there are not that many upscale choices in Paso Robles. Our room was very lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent service in the restaurant. The card key to our room did not work on 3 different occasions and we were at the hotel for less than 24 hours. The staff we encountered were young and enthusiastic and aimed to please.
Large bathroom. We have also stayed at summerwood and at the villa toscana which is now out of business.
If la bellsera upgraded there mattresses and got new sheets, it would be a comfortable place to stay. The sheets, we initially had, were all pilled up. They did change them and then they were fine. We were not bothered by the view as that is not what we were there for. Wine tasting is very convenient from this location.

We stayed here with 3 other couples for a weekend of wine tasting. The hotel exceeded everybody's expectations. Very nicely laid out and very clean. The location is excellent 1 freeway exit from downtown Paso Robles. I highly recommend staying here if visiting Paso.

We spent three nights here in February, with a promo of two nights paid and one night free. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and great toiletries. We had dinner two nights in the restaurant. Great selections, fair pricing and good food. If you bring a bottle of local wine corkage is free. Can't beat that. My only suggestion is to request a room that is not on the side of the highway. Our room had a lot of road noise. When I mentioned it at checkout when I was asked how our stay was, the older lady at the front desk could care less. No apology, nothing. That was not good.

Love this hotel. Great decor, service and location. Would definitley go back. We had a Suite which was perfect for our 11 year old daughter that was with us.

Loved the wine tasting they offered in the lobby in the evenings as well.

This hotel is just off the highway US101. It looks like an old classic hotel although it is actually only about a dozen years old. There is ample parking. The lobby is attractive. They also serve free coffee and tea in the morning and lemonade in the afternoon. Good coffee too. The lobby staff is ok. Our key did not work when we got to the room. Very annoying as we had to go back to have another pair made. There is not a lot of staff around. Calling the front desk took forever for someone to answer and that was after a few times of calling. Despite having the look of a high service boutique hotel, it really isn't as the level of staffing appears to be low. That being said, the room we got was excellent. The temperature controls worked perfectly. There was a large raised tub in the room. It is a spa type of a tub. However, the steps going up to it are very high. Some may find the tub hard to get into. Otherwise, it is a nice feature if you like that sort of a thing. The restaurant is also good. I would say it is a A- restaurant. Prices are the low to medium end of fine-dining. Portions are very large for both appetizers and main courses so sharing may be the thing to do. For being in the wine country, prices for wines are a bit high. Overall, I rate this place highly as this type of a room at below $200 is not bad at all. The bed was very comfortable.
