This place is on par with the other good Middle Eastern places in Pasadena and is likely to be less crowded because it is on Lake, North of the freeway. The kabobs were all perfectly cooked, the salads fresh and not overdressed and the rice was excellent. Since everything is cooked to order, it tastes great, but factor that into your plans as this is more of a slow/fast casual place.

Since it was a Sunday, and MC on South Lake Ave was closed, U-Pick was the choice for dinner take out tonight. Stayed with the beef and chicken kabob, and the price was under $20. The rice delicious and I chose the hummus and salads instead of the veggies this time. Solid for sure.

While I do prefer MC as their prices are a little less, U-Pick has a lot to offer as well...

We dropped by for dinner on Wednesday night and the place was pretty sparse. But it was only about 20 mins later that this place started to fill up and a lot of people do take out from here. I counted about 4-5 take out orders during the 30-40 mins that I was there, dining in.

After perusing the menu and looking over the images on yelp. We settled on the Chicken + Beef Kabob Plate and a Chicken + Beef Lule Plate. The meats were definitely good. I love how they cook your food after you order. Everything tasted fresh but I wished they would like the meats stay on the grill a tad longer for the maillard effect to kick in.

The sides were okay. We got the hummus, rice on one plate, fries and cucumber yogurt on the other plate. Counting hummus as a side dish is really scandalous. It's hummus, it's a dip not a side. The rice wasn't as fluffy and was kinda mushy for my taste but it wasn't too bad.

In total it was $27. $14 for the Kabobs and $12 for the Lules. Not too pricey but definely not cheap either.

For checking-in with your yelp app. you get a free side appetizer which we opted for Tabbouleh. It was decent.

Lot of choices here especially if Mediterranean Cafe is closed...the prices are slightly more but you get just as much if not more in your meal. Friendly service, would come back again!

Made a first visit yesterday and can't wait to go back. Tried the new location on York Blvd (it's hidden in the corner next to the laundromat). The food was amazing for being reasonably priced. You can see them doing all the cooking right there and it's obvious they take great pride in making the traditional dishes. It's not fancy but it's very, very good quality. The meats were not over cooked, the veges were just right. I tried two of the traditional stews and had to make myself save the leftovers for lunch. Can't wait to go back again. Give them a try, it's healthy and tasty.
