This is the second time I have stayed at Hot Tin Roof and it was better than ever. The house doesn't feel like a rental, it feels like a home. Each gorgeous room flows into the other, perfect for a group of friends. The bedrooms have luxury mattresses and each bathroom is spacious and pretty. The kitchen is fully stocked with luxury appliances and a huge spice/condiment section.
But the real stunner is the outside area. There is a salt water pool - perfect for those of us who hate chlorine, and a salt water hot tub. There are privacy hedges with palm trees, flowers, and herb gardens. Butterflies, hummingbirds and other birds flew in and out. The lanai is perfect for outdoor entertaining - with a comfy sofa corner that seats 4-5, and a dining room table. If you prefer the sun, there is another outdoor table and several chaise lounges, sun umbrellas and two fire pits. The BBQ is new and at 700 degrees, roasted our sirloin in minutes. Some of the chaise lounges have a wonderful view of the mountains and the sunset. Even when it was hot - the mornings were cool and delightful in the garden area. It is so tranquil, it is hard to get up and drive the ten minutes that take you to downtown Palm Springs.
Some minor details - it is near the airport so a few times a day there was flight noise. This did not bother us at all. Also the hot tub takes about 30 minutes or more to get to 103. I would have preferred being able to make it hotter!
I am looking forward to my next visit to this wonderful hideaway!
