“Michael at the pool was GREAT”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

The hotel is beautiful! the lobby took my breath away. The parking was very easy and our room was the best. We were right in front of the smaller pool. one bummer was that the pool was not heated at all. it was ice cold! and when we called to ask if it could be heated the women at the front desk laughed! I know its off season, but still. The pool was so cold you couldnt even put your feet in. We did however enjoyed the main pool. Michael really took care of us. He went above and beyond and we couldnt have thank him enough. he made our stay. one thing though, change the music at the pool. its awful! too much to relax. Oh and the pool table was amazing!

We stayed at the Riviera Resort for one night on the way between Santa Barbara and Scottsdale (Palm Springs is a good almost halfway point) On the plus side the room was big, comfortable and modern with "free" wifi included in the resort fee. The pool area seemed pretty small for the number of people and this was not in high season. The public areas corridors and lifts (in block 4) were very tatty and not clean and certainly not of a standard I would expect from the price paid. The hotel has been refurbished but you need to be sure that the 50s/60s style is for you. We tried to book a table for dinner but the earliest possible was 9.30pm so instead crossed the road and went to Ricks Desert Grill excellent food, service and great value.

This hotel was a fun place to stay. We were there for a girls weekend and it met our needs. Lounge is great. Decor is great. Room cleanliness could use improvement, and also we were missing some items (hairdyers/hand towels). Pool service needs to be more consistent with prices and service could be more professional. To make up for the shortcomings- hotel management overall is very professional when handling an issue. They are sincere when addressing your concerns. Would still come back!

Recently spent 4 nights and 5 days at the Riviera Resort & Spa. The pool area is beautiful but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. The front desk staff were helpful but housekeeping was an issue. Light bulbs not replaced and had to call almost everyday as we did not receive enough towels etc. On our last day there was no water. It was eventually fixed in the evening but the shower the next morning was lukewarm at best.

Room Tip: Would recommend rooms closer to the front lobby.

We picked the Riviera Palm Springs for our friend's bachelorette and we were impressed by the beauty of the property and architecture, the excellent pool areas, and how the staff went above and beyond to make sure it was the most fun weekend ever.

Rooms were very clean and stylish (huge silkscreen of Marilyn Monroe next to the blush white vinyl headboard), enough room in our two rooms for all of us. Bathtubs were HUGE (I'm a bathtub freak) and the separate shower/toilet room let more than one person get ready at once. Beds were super comfy, and we all slept quite well.

Our goals were to relax and enjoy the pool, and both of those goals were achieved. We grabbed a spot at the main pool, and the staff were cordial. Hanging out at the Bikini Bar was fun - great people watching. Following our day in the sun, we headed out on the town, returning to have a few drinks at the Starlite Lounge. The bar staff were INCREDIBLE and fun, and a DJ spun until the wee hours.

Overall, it was a very fun place to relax for the weekend with friends. Most impressed with the staff and the stylish decor. Worth noting: eat breakfast offsite, brunch at the hotel isn't cheap, and be prepared to take a cab if you want to explore Palm Springs - we didn't end up leaving much, so we didn't have to.
