“A wonderful, small resort with a personal touch!”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

~~Our family of 4 stayed at the Vista Mirage for a couple nights during a family vacation. What a lovely, small property & gracious staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the property and only wish we'd planned to stay longer.
~~Units were built as condos, so they are spacious. We requested a unit with twin beds in the second bedroom & that worked out perfectly.
Our kids loved the pool and tennis. Great frunishings!
Cozy beds! .... and clean, clean, clean! ~ What a gem of a property if you are looking for a small, private place to kick back and relax!

Friendly attentive staff. Gerry was a fountain of information about the area and kelly went out of her way to try and find us a rental wheelchair. Ceasar was always available to help.Units were spacious with all the plusses of a timeshare and none of the negatives.

Grocery store next door and a bakery to die for across the street. One pool was large enough to do laps.

Restaurants and Starbucks next door in the plaza.

We have already decided to return next year to Vista Mirage.

Vista Mirage is a good choice for family travel in Palm Springs.

You get a spacious two-bedroom apartment-style accommodation. If you request it you can have twin beds in the second bedroom, which we found handy for travelling with kids.

The building is on the older side and the bathrooms and furnishings are somewhat dated, but everything is very clean and the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. There are good-quality flat screen TVs in the living room and master bedroom and a nice stereo/DVD player in the living room. Beds are comfortable and it is fairly quiet at night.

There are two pools and a tennis court. The atmosphere is family oriented and we saw a lot of families with young children.

The location cannot be beat - about three long blocks to downtown Palm Springs and handy to the main route to Palm Desert etc.

One negative point is that wireless Intenet is not included and must be purchased from AT&T @ $6.95/day or $29.95/wk. This seems rather chintzy.

Large, clean, comfortable units. Lot's of pillows on the beds. One bedroom had two twin beds, the other a king bed. There was laundry just off the lobby. Two pools and two hot tubs. Six BBQ's you could use. Lots of chair and enough tables around the pool. Very centrally located. Staff was very nice. Friday there was a wine and cheese that we foolishly missed. Saturday there was a little continental breakfast. Other than that, no planned activities but we didn't want or need any. There are too many things to do near by. We picked grapefruits off the tree just outside the lobby. Delicious! the grounds are beautiful and well kept. We had clean towels and garbage removal mid week. There is a Ralph's a few blocks away to pick up groceries as well as a CVS, a few restaurants etc in a little strip mall. There was nothing we wanted for and had no complaints. We don't usually stay in the same place twice but there would be no reason we wouldn't stay here again. Feel free to ask me questions if there's something you'd like to know.

My husband and I traveled to Palm Springs, CA from Oregon for Christmas vacation during the last week of December, 2010. We were very pleasantly surprised at the wonderful 2 bedroom unit we were assigned at the Vista Mirage resort. The condo was HUGE, plenty of room for us and 2 extra-tall brothers that visited us there. The pool, spa and pool area was very nice. It was our first time to Palm Springs so we wanted to explore the area more this time than relax at the resort. But we noticed a perfectly maintained tennis court (equip. available at front desk) as well as the lovely landscaping. It was really neat for us to pick mandarin oranges and grapefruits from the trees and enjoy them at breakfast. A full kitchen with abundant supplies (coffee, dish soap, paper towels, etc.) served us well as we cooked most of our meals onsite. This resort is close to the downtown area which was advertising a film festival in January. Next year we may try to go then. Weather was wonderful and the Joshua Tree National Park was fascinating and only took about 40 minutes on very good roads. Palm Springs has about anything one could wish for - restaurants, physical beauty (what a view of the mountains from our condo), places to walk, recreation, but also has the daily necessities available too (Ralphs and CVS Pharmacy a partial block's walk away). I am a very light sleeper and I slept like a baby; units are insulated very well.
