Description: Waterfront views, rolling hills, locally-made food, 261 days of sun a year. Oakland and Northern Italy have more than just their climates in common. And this February, Lungomare combines the best of both regions on the waterfront at Jack London Square. Giving Oaklanders a new way to enjoy some of the city's best features: fresh food and fine weather, Lungomare is the latest project from the owners of Chop Bar and Grand Tavern, and while the setting is new, the mission remains the same: quality ingredients, perfectly executed. The menu will offer a blend of Tuscan and Ligurian specialties - a mix of seafood, house-cured meats, rustic pizza and fresh pasta, with dishes locally sourced whenever possible. Since the waterfront has one of the best views in the Town, Lungomare has plenty of outdoor seating, with heat lamps, wind screens and trellises to make it a comfortable place to sit year-round. Plus, there will be a raw bar, a regular bar, and a cafe to make it an all-day destination, whether you're grabbing coffee on the way to work, or dinner on a Saturday night.

We visited for lunch. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cocktails were very interesting and good. I ordered a salad of field greens that was excellent, and my wife was delighted with her watermelon and heirloom tomato panzanetta salad. We ate light but were very impressed with menu selections for another time.

What a great find, this Restaurant has a great location , indoor and outdoor seating.available. They offer a 3 course lunch for $21 which is great value and a good selection of meals. Wine list is impressive and good choice of beers. The staff were really friendly and very efficient.

Ate here twice on our last stay in Oakland and enjoyed both times. The food is wonderful and the restuarant is lovely with great views of the bay.

Where to start... we ate here twice during our stay in Waterfront Hotel in Oakland. Food is good, they try their best to make original italian foods (so far not succeeded, but the food is generally very good). Also very expensive, but as we noticed the other restaurants in the neighborhood aren't cheap eather.
Two BIG NEG's: we had a table reserved and still had to wait 15 minutes at the entrance till got seated (however the restaurant was far away from fulhouse).
On our last night we had a bill of 172$ and we gave the waitress 200$. She asks (without seeing what we put inside): do you need change? We: yes, 10 $ please (this means a gratuity of 17,8 $ = 10% of the total). She goes away and comes back after a few minutes (I assume after she checked that she receives "JUST" 17$): "sorry guys, you need change from that??!!!".
I think this is extremely rude and disrespectful!! She tried to make us to feel guilty for not leaving more than 10% tip... maybe this is a general problem in the US, in Europe a 10% gratuity is more than enough! Anyway in my opinion as a guest I have the right to decide if I want to leave a tip and how much and shouldn't be treated like an idiot who can't count, if I don't leave the expected amountof money!

6 of us had breakfast. Restaurant very empty. It took over 30 min to get our food. Poached eggs were cold and the sauce congealed. Lox and Bagel plate barely had enough lox to cover 1/2 of a bagel. We were offered a side of lox for $4 from the manager! We had more discussion with her and received 20% off our total bill and the eggs were deleted.
