Hotel is promoted as "Oakland Airport's brand new full-service hotel." Expecting to find the "modern chic" "brand new" accommodations they advertise, we instead were given a vague map and sent off to discover that our difficult-to-find room was actually in a remote and desolate area of an old outdoor motel set-up and situated over a back lot by the highway. (It seems there is a main mid-rise of rooms, apart from this two-level motel set up.) We arrived late at night and felt very unsafe at the location, especially as dark, obscured stairs were the only way to access our back-alley, albeit modernly-renovated MOTEL room. Incidentally, the hotel promotes itself as accessible, but there are no elevators to the second floor rooms -- Difficult for one of our party, especially with luggage.
When I called the front desk upon arriving in our room, I was bluntly told there are no other rooms available, and was dismissed with a suggestion to call if I hear anything of concern and I'm welcome to call the manager after 9:00am. Were it not so late with an early flight the next day, we would have left immediately.
The highway traffic & parking lot noise is VERY loud. The A/C also did not work. Nor did the "free WiFi." We got almost no sleep at all.
When I shared my dissatisfaction again at check out, I received a blank stare, an "Oh. Sorry," and was promptly handed my bill.
We felt the hotel is misleadingly marketed, overpriced and unsafe. The front desk staff were aloof and seemed unconcerned and ill-prepared to handle customer issues. Though I sent the manager an email, I have not yet heard from him.
