I understand that this Motel 6 is in Napa, CA is is less than 500 meters to the Marriott but proximity does not call for these prices.
We did arrive about 20 minutes before the stated 3PM check in and were told that they were busy last night and that our room was not ready and would not be ready for an hour, good thing we were able to be flexible, in face we drove to the Marriott for a drink, I wished that we had made reservations there.
The room was definitely spartan, decorated and outfitted with what I would consider IKEA furnishings. There was no DVD player in room, no alarm clock, no complimentary shower supplies etc. There is not even a control for the heat/AC, and with no extra blankets in the room we froze over night while sleeping. To add to the chill the floors are a cheap engineered flooring (think pergo) making it cold and loud.
Our room was in the rear of the hotel, what you need to know about this is that there are rail tracks that run between the expressway and the motel, this is a very active rail line and the trains are loud and frequent.
While the bed was passable I believe we were told that we reserved a king, what we slept in was not a king at all, not even close.
There is a pool on site but we did not utilize it due to the hours and our schedule.
There is also ample parking for the hotel.
Overall this appears to be a 60's built hotel that has gotten little more than paint and cheap furnishings as updates, apparently ownership feels this is adequate to charge astronomical prices, after all...this is a Motel 6.
With all the options in Napa there are much nicer places to stay, we simply waited a bit too long to make a lodging decision and landed here. Would have been OK, but not for almost $200/ night!
