We were headed up Highway 1 but it was fogged in so we opted to spend the night in Morro Bay before heading North. This was a good decision for several reasons 1) the next morning the fog lifted 2) there aren't too many places to stay further North between Morro and Monterey if you are driving the long and windy highway 1 and 3) the hotel had such charm and service that it felt like a little honeymoon. We stumbled on this hotel by way of the online site-Hotel Tonight. We got a great price! We stayed in the Oyster room which had been completely renovated. It had a most comfortable King size bed and a view of the big rock of Morro Bay. It also had a cute little fireplace that lit up for heat which added to the romantic ambiance. The renovated bathroom was roomy and the finishing touches were lovely. A spacious fridge was provided too! To top it off, breakfast was included and it was brought to your room at a time that you select. There were several menu choices-all looked very good. My omelette was excellent as was my husband's crepe. Everything about this place was so clean, stylish and charming. Parking was easy and we were able to pull right up to the room to load and unload. It was a short walking distance to the main street where all of the shops are and the bay. The innkeeper and staff were great! Wifi worked like a charm.

Room Tip: Great view and excellent renovated room-Oyster room!

....good price for the location, but it does have street noise and the breakfast choices aren't good. The milk was spoiled and the "orange juice" is something like Hi-C. Room was clean and comfortable and had a microwave, fridge and desk. The owner is very sweet, but his employee was very rude at check in. It's only one block to the Embarcadero and across from a good breakfast cafe. Wifi was spotty.

Okay so stayed at this hotel for the first and last time. The price was 189.$ for a Saturday night. The room smelled musty, dirty, maybe mildew? My husband was bit by some bug at night, woke up to find earwigs crawling on my thin brown blanket, Gross. I had stayed at sea air inn, awesome hotel so clean, also stayed across the street from this hotel at best western so nice, clean, blankets were actually blankets.I encourage anyone who reads this do not stay here there are plenty of other hotels in morro bay, even if its 20-40$ more way worth the money.

Room Tip: tip for a good room here, there are none go somewhere else.

Our preferred budget place to stay in Morro Bay was booked up so we stayed here instead. This place is really conveniently located about a block away from the water and very close to Giovanni's Fish Market. The room was in really good shape having recently been refurbished. I did notice one or two bugs in the room the next morning but nothing of consequence. The towels in the bathroom were about as thin as you can get and the breakfast consisted of white bread (to be toasted) and coffee and not much else. Couldn't even find a knife to spread anything on my toast. Anyway, this room was cheaper than most places for the holiday weekend, the location was good, and the room was in good shape.

Room Tip: Not sure there is much difference other than beds.

Really appreciated the size of the room and the nice shower. The desk person was quiet but very nice and helpful. Will definitely return. Loved Morro Bay and was quite at home in the room. Ate at the Great American Restaurant. Food was good and service excellent. Want to try renting a kayak next visit. Definitely drive around the coast to the rock itself. Gorgeous!

Room Tip: Room 34 was big. Nearby rooms small.
