This used to be our favorite restaurant for Savory Soy Milk and Xiaolong Bao; however, the quality of food has deteriorated, and prices have gone up. Wait staff is surly as in most Chinese restaurants. Parking is way more convenient than traipsing to San Francisco. I will not recommend this place to friends in the future. There is nothing spectacular anymore.

Black bean clam is very salty while the Shanghai fried noodle taste bland with few strip of pork. Have to put the sauce from clam to balance the favor. Kind of disappointed.

It is very crowded on Sunday at lunch time which is a good sign. Customers include both asians and westerners. We ordered dumplings, beef soup noodle and soy milk. The portions are big, the food is tasty. Will come back for their family combo for $60 and up when I can round up a bigger crowd.

This was our first visit to the Shanghai Dumpling Shop with our Brother-In-Law who recommended it. It was busy when we arrived but we did not have to wait long for a table. The waitress was not very helpful when we asked for something not on the menu. She just kept saying 'order from the menu, order from the menu'. She would not explain the dishes to us. They offer a large variety of food. The food came out quickly. The portions were large, hot and tasty. There is street parking available. We would probably come back if we were in the area. I would recommend this to others if they didn't want to drive into San Francisco Chinatown.
