i can not say enough.. nice staff... some what.. man working there did not cancel when i asked so i was charged for a night i did not stay .. even though i canceled...

my stay was no and off.. it was ok.. till the manager started yelling at me...
she accused me of going to the car lots and talking about buying a car..

i was accused of several things.. called a pedofile by maintenance... was harassed by strangers who wanted to know if i registered as a sex offender.. she heard what i do with little girls... (wtf) i told her to call the pd... she did.. they told her to leave me alone.. i said .. well my cousin's know what happened.. they know i did nothing.. that i was accused of something when i was in a public chat room with an open cam and mic when a kid walked up to me and said her mother was going stop me from being alive a few yrs bk.. for touching her. the entire event was documented...
this female then yelled at me saying the police were hiding me and i needed to be exposed.. so at the maintenance mans request she posted my pic... the pic of my car.. and my pic over and over... as many as they could take.. mind u they were non white as is the maintenance man... they got taken in .. and i sued them ..
thanks Motel6 for all the money i was rewarded and gave away...

i am serious.. i was put on the do not rent to list because i complained about getting a flat tire .. and the police saw what else he did to my car..

most of the staff is really nice.. the rooms are clean.. the pool is tiny..
and well they take the people who get out of the mental ward because the county pays them.. and they want their rooms filled...

homeless get vouchers to stay. cars drive around just about all night.. the train is going by constantly ... its between the rail road tracks and the freeway. freeway being across the street.. train being a short block and a half away.

extra for a frig.. extra for a microwave...

manager should not have yelled at me .. i NEVER went to look at cars in the car lots next door..
you hear the car alarms going off all night.. in the morning the loud speakers go on..

sad you never know if someone who works at the motel6 is telling you the truth..

i do not even know this man's name who said some really sick bad things about me.. all i know is that he always seemed nice.. later i found he said he would not work there if i was a guest... he said some really crazy things... i had to have the pd stop by to tell the manager i never went to look at cars... why would it be her business anyway.... but she called me delusional thinking i could buy a car.. (wft) i never said i was looking to buy a car... insane.. just insane...

i am sure you will not have the same experience... make sure you have a copy of your reservation before you go.. so you can get the price you reserved the room for..

At check-in the staff member lady requested much more money that it was marked on the booking.com confirmation paper. Fortunately I printed it before. Be prudent! After 20 minutes manipulation on the computer she accepted the booked price. After the payment in cash she asked 40$ deposit. Why? At the check-out when I returned the door card, the staff said thanks and bye. And the deposit, please? Fortunately I did not forget it. So, be prudent, I repeat!!!
Easy to find this motel near the road 99, so noisy a little bit. Simple room with fridge, not too bad. There is a Smart & Final supermarket at 5 minutes drive with good prices to buy foods, fruits and drinks. The motel offers a free morning coffee, which is really kind.

We were in town for a memorial service and needed a place for a couple of nights. I do not usually stay in Motel 6's but my wife has had several good experiences. Wish I had "listened" to the reviews. Although the room was fairly clean, the double bed was pushed against the wall making it difficult to get into and out of on that side. We moved it but then the room was so small that it was truly cramped. Having Costco right next door and freight trains within a block made sleeping almost impossible. Felt like the trains were in our room with us and the delivery trucks at Costco backing up to unload resulted in a horrible night. We were supposed to stay two nights but went elsewhere for night two. Would not stay here (or probably any Motel 6) ever again.

Room tip: Don't bother

First, let me say the room we stayed in (107) was clean and the double bed was comfortable. I do find it curious that Motel 6 puts a double bed and almost NO waist level surfaces in a handicap room. The clean room & comfy bed are the reasons I didn't give this motel 2 stars. There were lots of mistakes in our stay. First, I had requested a first-floor room but when we got to check and the clerk assigned me to a second-floor room. He did find the afore mentioned handicapped room on the first floor to give to me but I had made a big deal about asking for a first-floor room when I made the reservation earlier that day. Second, we were shocked to find that we would have to pay three dollars a day for Wi-Fi access. Third, in the photographs it shows a washing machine and dryer. However the washing machine doesn't work, and has a big sign on it telling you so. Fourth, the pool is out of service. Not that we wanted to swim in the pool but the website should state that the pool is not open. Fifth, I didn't feel very safe in the parking lot. I noticed a number of people walking around the parking lot that did not appear to be guest. Sixth, we made a two night reservation. However when we came back the second night to the room the key card would not work. I had to take it back to registration and the (different) clerk had to swipe the key again because the previous night's clerk had only enabled the key card for one night. We will not be staying at this motel if we are ever in this town again. In fact, it definitely lowers my opinion of Motel 6 overall.

First I would like to say that I travel frequently and I'm a Gold member of Hotels.com. I rarely stay at Motel 6, however, I have stayed at the North Merced location numerous times since 2013. I normally avoid Motel 6 due to the very small rooms and exterior entrance. That said, this location offers a few larger rooms called "2 Queen Suites" which are in fact a little larger, offering front facing windows that aren't along a walkway so you're free to have the curtains open. This room type includes a mini fridge and microwave. Most Motel 6 locations are extreme basic; lacking a fridge. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for so you can't expect Hilton quality when paying less than $100 a night anywhere - or in this case less than $80. Rooms all have flat screen TV's now. Staff here are always friendly and get me checked in fast. All motels and hotels in Merced are right off 99 in not so good areas. A Carl's Jr. Is right out front in the parking lot along with a jack in the box a block down under the freeway. 76 gas mini mart directly across the street as well as a Black Bear Diner. Costco just right around the corner. A few tips to the motel that would make this place better and cleaner would be to paint the room baseboards more often, deep clean the tubs at least once a month. Perhaps resurface some bathtubs and shower walls. Replace the dirty grey shower curtains every 4 to 6 months, redo the caulking around the tub and toilet so it looks even and white. Finally, replace worn bedspreads every few years. While the chain made all It's locations undergo a more modern European look in floors and colors, the old 90's headboards and desks-dressers remain. The pool is often out of service here for those coming to swim or need a spot for the kids to have fun. There are self laundry and vending machines outside the pool that worked well. I will continue to come back here when I'm in Merced. Most recent stay was early July 2017.
