We ate a perfect prepared steak and delicious quesadillas. The service was not very kind that's why i only rated 4 stars, but that's the only "negative" thing I have to say.

Small local Mexican restaurant on Venice Blvd. Easy to pass up but don't . They have a small amount of off street parking. Tlapazola is clean and the service prompt, the decor is bright and cheery. The outdoor dining is partially covered and a p,east atmosphere. The menu offers many delicious authentic Mexican dishes. Don't miss out on the home made guacamole. You can see the chunks of avocado, tomatoes and onions. Excellent. They have two salsas, one pretty mile but the hot is Really HOT. Blend them together and the mix is just right. Two of the quesadillas we enjoyed were mushroom and cheese and the spinach quesadillas. Unusual and tasty.

WOW. Great food! Advertised as Mexican, but it is unlike any other Mexican place you have ever been. No tacos! Guacamole is just excellent as are the chips which are thin and not loaded with salt. Chicken flautas are crispy with no oil very attractively served. Appetizers $8-10, Entrees $17-22. I had sand dabs served over spinach with a vegetable enchilada. Just excellent. Again, beautifully plated. Huge enchilada full of healthy veggies. They have lobster too.
You can sit inside or out. I chose out on the patio because is is open and breezy. The inside felt too claustrophobic. Service excellent. They do not bother you but are there when you need them. Ultra casual attire. It is a beachy neighborhood place, nothing fancy.
They have 120 kinds of tequila and their margarita is 15 oz. Plus they have anything else you might want.:-)
I would go back in a minute. I was very impressed with everything. I was expecting just the normal Mexican. This place is a step up for sure!!

The shrimp dishes are fabulous as are any of the traditional Mexican entrees. You could die waiting for water or a refill on your drink. When it is time for the check no one can be found - anywhere.

This restaurant serves some good variety of Mexican food and has a nice decoration. However, it is far from real Mexican food (that can be found in several small places in the city), and some dishes can be pricey to their quality.
